Excelsior Springs Golf Club

This course is in a small town about 20-25 minutes from Liberty/KC area. It is is an older course but has been kept up and is one of the nicest conditioned courses you’ll play around the KC Metro area. It is not a super long course but the tight fairways and change in elevation make it it a challenging track. I would recommend this place to anyone. They also have a brand new clubhouse with restaurant. Staff is always nice even to non-members.

Our foursome left after 13 holes due to the amount of time it was taking. When we drove by the foursome that was the second group ahead of us, we realized there was no one on 15,16, 17, or 18. We had a 12:32 tee time on Saturday and was required to have a significant delay to tee off at every hole. FYI.

Love this course. Always in perfect shape. Greens are awesome. Staff is incredible.

They need Marshall’s on the course!! Pace of play is terrible.

All right round except for following six player group for the last five holes

We were very impressed from start to finish. Friendly staff welcomed us to their course. The course was in phenomenal condition and the pace of play was perfect. Almost joined the club on the spot. I would highly recommend this course to golfers of all levels of play.

Average golfer at best but did find this course very challenging. Many “uphill” tee shots were the main reason.

This course is absolutely fantastic. Best greens in KC. Friendliest staff you will ever come across. I can't say enough good about this old school course.

The course is in great shape tee to green. The staff is friendly and the new clubhouse is open. Overall a nice day and round of golf.

First time back since the new clubhouse opened and this place continues to improve in every way.

An old course with character, I already loved it based on layout and course conditions, but today the course was next level. Immaculate tees, fairways and greens. Rough is penalizing as it should be.

Quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. Never had a membership anywhere, but seriously considering ES.

Hard to believe it is municipal.

Course was in great shape. Fairways are well manicured and greens were perfect and fast. Challenging hole placements with some on sloping greens making for tough puts long or short. Back nine is definitely more challenging with all the hills and dog-leg holes. I don't recommend walking the back 9 as it is VERY hilly. Front 9 would be fine to walk. I still would like to walk the full course with my push cart just to see what its like to walk the full thing.

Short without a lot of trouble - no sand, little water - not long, in good condition. A fun play on a beautiful spring day.

The course was in great winter shape. All the fairways were well maintained and drained well. Greens were hard and fast but expected for this time of year. Staff was very friendly. The only issue was a couple golfing in front of us that had no clue what golf etiquette is, took way too long goofing around on the greens and they also had their kids in a cart just riding along with them. A few times their kids screamed and were being obnoxious. Very disrespectful of people on the course. Two groups behind us were unhappy as well. I suggest no kids unless they are riding with their parent or of age to drive 15+.

It was a cold and windy fall day. However, I couldn’t have asked for a better course to play. The fairways were is great shape. The greens are well kept and challenging. I play here a few times a year and should play more often.
