Virg's hole in... Photo submitted by u000004000717 on 02/28/2018
Cart paths only really slowed down the pace of play. But I understood based on recent weather.
Pro shop staff seemed a little disorganized.
Distance to first tee from pro shop may cause some of those issues.
Food service staff was same way. Food was served hot. Staff was courteous. Just seemed to be missing direction.
I will be back when weather conditions allow for a bettor pace of play.
bad timing
The greens had recently been punched and many of the approach areas were being punched the day I played this course. I liked the layout, the staff was very friendly, and the course offered plenty of risk/reward.
Nice course with good greens
Course plays well...could use some tree trimming...
All around great experience
Nice little course out in the hills of Missouri. Don't expect this course to be an upscale country club. Pulls in a variety of individuals. Front 9 is a little plain and not too exciting while the Back 9 was a great experience. I walked the course and do not suggest it unless you are just playing the front 9, which is still a challenge.
Course was in great condition and played true. Played slow but they had a marshal out there who was pushing people along which is nice to see. Great staff too.
Will be back!
Frequent Player here
Union Hills is definitely a shotmakers course. It doesn't play long but the fairways, especially on the back nine are pretty narrow. I play there often and you can see the course shaping up now that Walters Golf is managing it. The course still needs work but it is really coming together.
The front nine has two really fun par 5s that are great birdie opportunities and the 9th hole par 3 is really a fun hole. I will continue to play this as my primary course because it has a 130 slope which is challenging and the Golfnow deals of under 20.00 makes it a great value
The course was in great shape!
Back 9 was tough, greens gave me some problems and some holes were narrow. But overall this was a really fun course, and can't beat the price. I paid $14.50 to play 18!
Long course in transitional condition.
They appear to be doing a lot of work to the course. When it is done it will be very good. Not bad by any means now. If your in the area you should play there.
greens need work
greens are half poa anna grass and half bent grass. poa anna grows fasters than bent grass. if you don't mow the greens daily, you have uneven greens. i played late afternoon, and clearly, the ball does not roll evenly, it actually zig zags.
Good value close to home
I was excited to see this addition to GolfNow because it is only 15 min from home for me. It is an interesting course that isn't overly long, but has some tight shots (especially on the back nine.) It's still early in the season, so their burmuda hasn't turned green yet making the fairways not as easy to hit off of as they should be. The greens are still recovering from aeration and were really rough in some areas, making the putting really inconsistent. If the tee times stay cheap and the conditions and pace of play stay good, I'll play this course a lot this summer.
Nice veiws, lots of hills, greens coming in, its all good.
Played monday funtime ,course was firm,no rain, we had fun.
Very pretty and very difficult
The course needs to add an additional tee box. As it is today it is too long for seniors.
Excellent Layout
Fun Course to Play ... Grass will green up with warm weather and be even better.
Good course and never crowded!
I play this course quite often and it is more challenging than most courses in the area (besides Quail Creek). They have put a lot of work into the greens and they are already looking pretty good. The back nine is what makes this course challenging, a lot of OB and tough holes.
$18.50 is a steal!!!
This has always been a challenging but fun course in Jeff Co. Now that they are semi private I can go without my friends hookup! The majority of the greens were aerated but they played well. Great pace of play but we did have a marshal come around who was not what you would call friendly. Take this deal and hit Union Hills!
Not for a beginner.
Lots of work going on getting ready for the season. Greens were being ariated and fairways were being fertilized, so not a fair evaluation.
I've played this in season and love it.
Fun and Challenging
Teamsters Local 688 has finally opened this course up to the public. Considering the minimal options in Jefferson County this is a great deal. For 17.00 I played 18 and the course was in good shape, especially considering the recent snow storm. The greens were fast and the fairways were pretty tight but you could still get underneath the ball.
Fairways are challenging, narrow in some spots. Definitely a good course with not a lot of traffic. Doesn't rate in the upper end of public courses but it is a good mid-range course that is challenging.
Course is good
The Course is good. Greens took a major hit this summer but they definitely worked on them. Last time I checked you have to be a member to golf here.
