Fun and challenging layout
First time back in a while. Nice conditions on a fun layout. Not sure if the course underwent some renovations as it seemed to play more difficult than I remembered (card said slope was 130). The carts seemed relatively new, the GPS system was very nice and I liked how it showed the other carts around.
Will say the first hole is challenging to find as it is “hidden” from the clubhouse. Course was in good shape, and the greens were excellent. Didn’t hit it into a bunker all day but some of them looked to be in rough shape. Water comes into play a decent amount. Holes seemed to run very close to each other as we were nearly hit by a number of errant shots. Many tee shorts felt very tight and required a specific launch window, which was a challenge.
Pretty good value for a weekend. Had to wait on nearly every shot on the front side but the pace picked up on the back. Would play again, however it is a haul to get there for our group.
Excellent golf experience
Great bang for the buck at Acorns - nice layout and flow to the course - will certainly be back!!

Nice course, a lot of people playing on a very nice day but never had to wait at any hole. This is a challenging course with numerous dog legs and water to navigate. Love #18 hole to finish the day.
Rough
First off, it was cart path only, which made things more difficult. While most of the fairways were pretty dry, there were some squishy spots. I didn't feel we had enough rain lately to create these conditions, so attribute some of it to poor course drainage design.
Started off on the wrong foot. I was instructed to get a cart from the garage and that a card would be on the cart. There were cards on the cart - all used. Then, there were no signs directing you to Hole 1. I had to interpret where it was from the map on the card (made harder as the clubhouse was not on the map) and by asking some other players.
This is a fairly difficult course. Water comes into play on at least 11 holes. In general, if you are not in the fairway, you will be shooting either above or below your feet, as many holes were lined with moguls. That being said, the fairways were relatively narrow as well. On Hole 10, if you were anywhere left of the cart path, you were OB anywhere right of the fairway was water. Not a lot of leeway for an errant shot. Many of the traps were either under repair or had been abandoned to weeds.
I played this course once several years ago. I'm wondering if it had undergone some major redesign, as it didn't look at all familiar. Maybe I am just not good enough, but I will not be back. Plenty of better/less frustrating courses to play for the money.
Best Round of Golf, for me
Today was a good day. Course was in very good condition and played the best 9 holes, on the back 9 in my life. Shot 1 over Par which is great for me. This course is great and worth the 50-55 minute drive for me. Hit em straight and you will be rewarded.
Acorns is a gem
We have played Acorns for years. They are constantly working to improve the course and amenities. Play was slow on Saturday, but it was a holiday weekend. Greens were in great shape.
