Golfer Reviews
Management is very rude
The two old ladies who run this course are the worst aspect of the golfing experience here by far. I find myself wondering how these two are able to operate a functional business. They are rude and very unapproachable. That being said, the golf course itself is a delight to play.
Great day to play
Mulberry Hills GC is in great or very good shape. The round was enjoyable and we played the front nine in 1:40. The back nine took just under three hours. There were way too many groups on the course with three groups playing most holes and four on one par five. With a lack of sand, the crowned greens were the big course challenge. Please do something about the 17th green. A complete joke. When you hit a 7 iron and land it ten feet from the pin, it should not roll off the green as in go off the front of the green. Change the shape of the green. The rest of the course was fine.
Great course with challenging greens!
Beautiful Day for a round of golf. Course is playing well and the greens were as tough as ever. Lots of crown tops that if you miss the top it comes rolling back off of the greens. Had way too many of those today.
You get what you pay for
From my first 10 minutes on the property I was greeted by a very rude and negative employee who made it very hard for me to be excited to ever come back here, but I put that issue aside and hoped for a decent round, we quickly realized they paired us with another group as we headed to the first tee and the round was constant gridlock of hitting and waiting 70% of the time we were playing each hole we spent waiting due to overbooked tee times and due to the constant side by side fairways we were very distracted by other groups playing music at full volume through there Portable speakers as well as balls flying towards us constantly. The greens were decently kept but very inconsistent. If you don’t really care about your golf game and just want to get out of the house for 4 hours this is your place but other then that I’d go anywhere else.
Great course... Staff, well that's another story
We have played here 50+ times over the last 20 years, just decided to write a review due to my latest experience with them.
The course truly is great value for the money, it's why we always go back to play it 2-3 times a year. The Turtle back greens are tough, fun, but not for the faint of heart.
Negatives: still amazes me the rudeness of the staff. They are consistently nasty with attitudes about everything.
They seem to forget they are in the hospitality business. They are not pleasant from the time you walk in the clubhouse, but once you pay the money and get out of the awful smelling building, the course is great challenge around the greens.
Classic and latest example: I dropped my brand new head cover by the clubhouse prior to starting round. Finished the round and asked them politely if anyone turned it in. The manager proceedef to walk outside, dig through the trash can to fish it out and handed back to me without saying a word. I just shook my head. Literally brand new cover and they couldn't be bothered with a lost and found basket?
Not worth the drive
The group in front of us played really slow, the group behind us hit up on us on every hole. The starter asked us to speed up play while we waited for the guys ahead to find balls and move on. The guys behind hit balls close enough we could pick them up and put them in the cart or just toss them in the ponds or woods. The course itself is basically Maple Lanes just 40 minutes out of town. Mostly flat and straight.
Fun Course For The Price
Nice little course in great condition. Tee boxes and greens were in surprisingly great shape for the price. Not an overly difficult course (very wide open), but was fantastic for my wife learning how to play. We will definitely be back.
