Beautiful day
Today was a beautiful Wednesday afternoon for golf. Unfortunately a lot of people had the same idea as it was very busy and slow. Whatever it is better than being at work. I love this course , this was my first time playing here this year and it did not disappoint. Challenging but not overly difficult. Had a few birdie chances but missed the putts. Oh well pars are always good.
Slow Day
As you can tell by my headline it was a slow day today. It was a beautiful day so I guess that brought a lot of people out. I was playing as a single and it still took me 4 hours to get a round in. The good news is while I was waiting I must have found at least 15 golf balls Through out the day. I'm sure some of them may have been mind that I lost in previous rounds. Having said that finish the day with Ten bogeys and 8 pars. I had 3 or 4 birdie putts but unfortunately I missed them all. Speaking of birdies check out the birdies I was sharing the course with.
Once
I got the round for 15 bucks, so it was worth it. I would never play there at a price higher than that. Pretty course, fast pace of play, and no sand were the pluses. The downside was the greens are shaped like ant mounds. Might as well put the hole at the tip of an iceberg.
A few holes are laid out really poorly where you're basically aiming at each other.
The clubhouse smells like cat pee.... or 100 cats pee.
most of the holes are pretty dull, straight and boring but trees definitely come into play. Very little water and no sand.
GF-2 COMMITTEE
The course did not provide for social distancing on the carts. I kept thinking about risking my life while I played the round. Al;so, the only option was not to play if I was not willing to rid with someone on the cart.
Gets the job done
couple good blind shots. Couple tough greens and tight fairways.
One of the better courses I’ve played. Beautiful layout pace was very good. Awesome starter tells you about the coarse good guy. If it wasn’t an hour away would definitely play more.
Dece course, horrible people
The course itself was decent enough but the woman in the pro shop was extremely rude while we were paying and overcharged for the round. The pace of play was very slow - but that’s to be expected when you stagger tee times 4 minutes apart. I’ve played here before and wasn’t expecting it to be Pinehurst but after the experience with the folks in the pro shop today it will be some time before I’ll be going back.
Great tee boxes and clean carts
We played 18 holes in about 4 hours and 10 minutes. The pace of play was really good. What is especially pleasing is that the carts were clean. this is not a big deal but with covid this is the first time I've been in a clean cart in 2 months. The greens were undulating. Speed was medium fast. Unfortunately most golfers don't know how to repair their divots in the green. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone and play. The price was right for a Sunday.
