About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Course is in good shape.
This was the first time I played this course this year. It’s always been kept in great shape. It has geese but which course near the water doesn’t have geese.
Good Sunday round
Course was in good shape for time of year. Price for round was nothing short of awesome.
Course in great shape
Played on Sunday and was very happy with round. Okay was kind of slow but was really hot. Course was in good shape except never seen so many ball marks on greens not being repaired. Come on people!!!! Golfers are the problem not the course. Pick up your empties too.
Buy some weed killer and fertilizer!
More weeds than there is grass . The Geese have overtaken the place .
This course a few years ago was excellent. It was a shame to see it in the condition it is.
Beautiful
Besides the friendly staff, this course was in terrific condition. Deer running across the fairways added to the fantastic experience we had. Definitely will return!!'
Slow play
Course was in so so shape due to heavy rain overnight. Cart path only, which I understood. But, had a group of very, very senior citizens that so slow that it took 2 hours 50 minutes for 9 holes. Even with cart path only, that's still unacceptable. I'll probably go back, but not on a Friday. Also, where was a ranger?? Never saw one the entire round!
Lake Erie Metro
We bought the 18-hole Twilight Special and only got to play 10 holes. We should have been reimbursed for 9 holes or given a credit.
Rude staff
The front desk staff was rude. When we’re about to tee up, an old guy who appeared to be a member of the staff asked us why my buddy and I were on a separate carts. I said due to COVID restriction that neither of us is comfortable riding together. The guy meanly said that gas is so expensive that we need to ride together. And he continued on telling me to shut up that he doesn’t time to argue with me. You see I’m not a white personal but my buddy is. I’ve heard a lot of things about staff in this course and I didn’t believe until today. I’m taking my business somewhere else next time.
