Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

A day of waiting

Our group showed up at 1210 for a 1224 tee time waited for 30 min just to get a golf cart that was reserved for us then hopped in line with multiple carts from other partys on every hole. Will not repeat took 6 hours for 18 holes. The weather was very nice tho..

Not my favorite of the Detroit metro park courses

I know it is early in the season, but the tee boxes and rough were in pretty raggedy shape. Side note: I was having a bad day keeping it in play off the tee so perhaps that is souring my opinion. But, the course design seems to favor slightly elevated or crowned fairways that fed lots of my crooked shots off into the woods and water. I struggled here.

Greens we’re in very good shape. I like Hudson Mills, Kensington and Willow Metro more than this one.

Great course for the price

Really can’t beat a course like this for the price. Good variety, several Par 5’s, good challenges. Cart path is a little rough in some spots - not a big deal; just make sure to cinch your bag in nice and tight. The course itself is maintained well.
