About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Good Value
Course could use a little TLC... Tee boxes, traps and fairways all need some attention....
Not my favorite of the Detroit metro park courses
I know it is early in the season, but the tee boxes and rough were in pretty raggedy shape. Side note: I was having a bad day keeping it in play off the tee so perhaps that is souring my opinion. But, the course design seems to favor slightly elevated or crowned fairways that fed lots of my crooked shots off into the woods and water. I struggled here.
Greens we’re in very good shape. I like Hudson Mills, Kensington and Willow Metro more than this one.
Poor pace of play. Ridiculously long waiting in every hole
No starter, no ranger, very very long waiting in every holle.
Course is nice
Great course for the price
Really can’t beat a course like this for the price. Good variety, several Par 5’s, good challenges. Cart path is a little rough in some spots - not a big deal; just make sure to cinch your bag in nice and tight. The course itself is maintained well.
Great shape for spring
Course was in great condition for this time of the year. Greens were lush and true. Only concern was they were a little slow. Bunkers needed some attention...

Refund
I paid for 4 golfers through gold now but only 3 could play. I didn't get a refund for the 4th person? If that's the gold now policy, everyone would be better off booking through the course because they will not charge you for individuals that can't play.
Lake Erie
The course was in great shape for October in Michigan. The greens were fast, firm, and rolled very true! Really enjoyed the round and played 18 holes in less than 3 hours!
Fun and affordable
This will never be the best course but it’s a fun layout with good pace of play and tricky golf shots. One of my favorite courses
Golf at Lake Erie
This is a tricky test from the tips. Some tight driving holes, but overall a fun test.
Fun course
Great course. Fun layout, challenging but not too unfair. Conditions are always pretty good. Great value
