Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course
About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Overbooked
Started at 7:20 and had 4-5 groups in front of me. Waited at every hole for at least 10-15 minutes.
Course conditions
The rough was very difficult to find the golff ball
It had not been cut in some time. The only saving grace were the greens.. hopefully they will do more to manicure the course
Painfully show round
Had a 2:08 tee time. I arrived on time and had to wait 25 minutes for 2 groups to tee off. There was no stater or ranger, which totally ruined the pace of play. They are clearly letting walk ons cut in front of people with tee times. Total round took almost 5 hours. Avoid this course at all costs if you value not having to wait 10 minutes on every tee box. My group was able to play several holes twice before the group ahead of us got off the next tee. They had no etiquette and did not let us play through. Just a bad experience.
Lots of rain but conditions good
Despite 3 days of rain the course was in good shape and the greens were in excellent shape.
Lake Erie
The course was very wet but playable. Pace of play was a bit slow but it is a PublicMetro course!
