OK for Winter Play
I decided to travel to this course because it was open in mid March. Temps were in the low 50’s and there was still snow on a few holes. The greens were probably the slowest I’ve ever played but they may be faster when the grass is growing. The front nine layout was fine but the back nine had some strangely designed holes. Overall condition of the course was not so good but it was golf in winter after all.

golf in February
Couse still a bit rough as expected this time of year, but for February golf, cannot complain a bit.

There is a few courses around Novi which is open during off season. I understand green and fairway are not being maintained until season comes. However, the play fee is much more expensive than customer's expectation. I hesitate to pay the fee for playing at the poor condition. I feel $30 is fair price for that condition.

Next Year
First the pace was great. Helped that I was the second off the tee. The greens were the big issue. Been punched and still in bad shape. Back was not as bad but still putts never rolled smooth. This late in the year I don't think they will improve by the end of season. So find a course that has greens that have already mended and save Cattails for Next season.

Has really gone south
Organized and on time with tee times, played in under 4 hours on a weekend is great. Staff super friendly. Course is in terrible shape. Fairways at roughs length, tee boxes were awful. Our group found 3 of them unplayable and chose to tee off from a different area. Greens beat up and just look like no one cares. Really not worth $65 and not even worth half that honestly. Such a bummer too because the course could be really nice. Wont be back…ever.

where are the fairways?
the fairways were NOT fairways. they were light rough mostly. even had some HEAVY rough in the middle of the fairway. terrible. but yet the greens were cut TOO MUCH. ball is on the green one second, and the next its 20 yards off the green. the 200, 150, and 100 yard flags in the middle of the fairway was cheesy in my opinion. there were also multiple holes under construction. the very first hole said it was 441 par-5 from the blue tees. nope. tees were way up. now it becomes a 390 par-4. paid $55 just a couple days ago at Pheasant Run. very nice course with no issues there.
