Sabal Course at Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club

After considerable online research as a first time visitor to the area, this course ranks right up among the very best. Greens were perfect along with fairways, a couple tees (played off blues) were a little tired but only to be expected this time of year. The layout of course is superb with several challenging tees driving up narrow tree lined channels or over significant water carries of circa 200yds (note forward tees not so challenging). The practice putting green was under dressing (all bar 3 holes) and clubhouse is under full refurbishment currently. Those things aside the Sabal course is exceptional and great value and I will definitely return (Royal just closed for 6 weeks summer maintenance).

I have lived and played both courses since 2000. Royal & Sabal. Both courses have been completly redone last 4-years. Both courses now have Celebrity Grass Fairways and Mini-Verde greens. Never go dormmant!! Moisture tolerant grasses. Leads to year round play. Both or Championship quality and extremly PRETTY and CHALLENGING! Offering 6000 yards from white tees and over 7000 yards from Championship. 5-sets of tees are available-Championship, white, silver, gold, and red. Royal course is very picturesque with flowers, flowering trees, shrubs, lakes, and beautiful home views. Sabal Course, has beauty in flowers, lakes, and Wooded preserve. Birds abound, eagle and ospry live at the site, and are seen regularly. White tees offer slopes of 127. Grill room and dining is a must. Looking out over a 50-acre lake. Inside and outside dining are available. 2-club houses are available, one outside with TIKI bar located by swimming pool. Both have sculptered swimming pools with hot tubs. The CC has approx. 1670 residents, 10 swimming pools, and 10-Har tru tennis courts. A beautiful club with flowers and landscaping---a MUST SEE and PLAY!!!

Went there to meet buddies from Sarnia who live there during the winter. My first time there. From the moment you drive in along the grand entrance you are in awe. The reception of the staff was friendly and you never touch your golf bag from the moment you take it out of your car. Driving range and practice green very nice. Tee time was on time and the opening hole is a nice easy short par four to get you going and into a positive frame of mind. What I really enjoyed was this course is player friendly and this was nice after not playing all winter. The greens were not fast but fair. Half the speed of Heron's Glen. Pace of play was perfect, no waiting. 18th hole reminded me a bit of Harbour Town, but not as difficult. View from patio awesome, and the beer and service was great. Value was fair, $67 as a guest. Heron'Glen was $78. I am now looking for a rental here, Lots of trails, pools, etc., cannot wait to play here again.
