2nd, par-3, 203 yards. The longest and most difficult par-3 on the course. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/25/2022

You’ll need a solidly struck iron to find the fourth green in regulation. Par-3, 152. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/25/2022

The par-4 fifth, which plays uphill at 303 yards, is as tough as nails for a short hole. Fives and sixes are likely far more common here than scores of three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/25/2022

The sixth may not be a long hole, but it is the #5 index. The views are compensation, though, for any woes you may experience. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/25/2022

Green six is well guarded by a frontal pond. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/25/2022

Loudon’s fourteenth is a drive and pitch hole of 386, where most golfers will choose to lay up before the large pond. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/25/2022

Hard greens.
Greens are fairly undersized and all are crowned which makes most approaches very similar. Very difficult to have most iron shots hold the greens. Otherwise the condition of the course is very well kept and the round was good.
Good course, great value.
Course was a pleasure to play. Well maintained, and fairly challenging. Being the first time there never really knowing where the water and mash ares actually came into play made some of the surprises a challenge. The rough was deep enough that you really had to keep your eye on where your ball headed. Early on our group took on the " just drop another and keep playing" mantra,. Overall a great course, we will definitely be back.
Good course
Greens in great shape and well kept
Good pace of play!
Only gap - no beer cart!!!!!!!
Other than that great day
Perfectly maintained course... Clubhouse is poor
Played 2 days in a row, the vast differences in clubhouse staff was astounding. Friday was hot and the pace of play was very slow but within reason for race week. The clubhouse staff was ready and prepared for you at the turn, the young lady was pleasant and prompt. Saturday the pace was much better, however the clubhouse staff service was not even similarly trained or effective. The woman (Donna) behind the bar Saturday was not busy with customers but she was busy talking. We had to wait while on the turn for Donna to chat with someone, not sever them in any capacity. When we finally get served she proceeded to call us "lovey" multiple times? This woman asked me so many questions about nothing in between running for everything we ordered. The amount of times she had to leave the bar to make 4 drinks for us was uncalled for. Be prepared, don't be a pest, be prompt, and no pet names.
Highly suggest a weekday tee time if you like reasonable service and no loud beer cart.
The course is as close to perfect as it could be. The description listed says the members maintain the gardens but they must have an incredible team of staff to deal with everything. The effort really shows.
Great day to hit some balls
Had an awesome day for my first time out this year
a go-to course
Same great course as last year. Just challenging enough. Very aesthetically pleasing.
Open for the 2021 season!
Loudon has reopened for the 2021 season! The course is in great condition right now... Greens are fast! FYI... There is some construction happening on the right side of the green on hole 16 (new sandtrap going in) and you don't want to hit ball into it! Tee boxes seem to be in good shape. No bare spots on fairways that I have seen however, there are a few "soft" (a bit muddy but with grass on top) spots on some holes (3 just after dog-leg left on left side of fairway, 13 middle low spot of fairway but it's a par 3 and one can drive the green easily, 11 on left side just forward of senior ladies tees [silver], & a little bit on 12 on far right side of fairway - about the last 50 yds of fairway to front of green). But, as stated, all in all the course is in great shape!
The restaurant is open & serving food/drinks. The outside decks at clubhouse are open. The Pro Shop on ground level is not open but instead is temporarily located in the 2nd level clubhouse (inside restaurant) where one can get various items - balls, gloves, tees, a new hat, etc... If you need services (example: club regripped) just ask as there are people on staff who can perform these tasks. They do ask that you continue to wear a mask indoors at the clubhouse. The range and putting green are open. Range balls can be purchased in clubhouse.
The staff are all friendly & welcoming! Not sure if there is a beer cart on course during weekends yet but one can purchase drinks in clubhouse to take out on course (no outside alcohol allowed). If you decide to eat... Everything is very good, cooked to order, & portion sizes big enough to fill you up! The seafood (any), Loudon burger, & Ruben sandwich are great choices!
I play Loudon often & would highly recommend it! A challenging course but not so difficult that a beginner can't play. Some hills involed and some greens are uphill from tee, others downhill. There are pond hazards involved on several holes but not so big they can't be dealt with fairly easily. I'm a female in my mid 50's and can easily clear ponds on holes 4, 6, 10 (area in front of tee box), 14, 17, & 18 (area in front of tee box). From men's tees there are a couple more ponds to deal with that women don't have to such as holes 7 & 9.
I'm just glad the course is open for the new season & glad to be able to get outside and play! If you haven't tried Loudon... Give it a shot... I don't think you'll be disappointed! It's a great course, with great staff, and most people (players) are fairly laid back & friendly! Family owned & operated as opposed to a large off-site corporation & the owners (Bill Sr. & son Bill Jr.) are awesome, terrific, friendly, helpful, & very knowledgeable people who are on site regularly. Both are fantastic golfers as well! Thanks Bill & Bill for owning & operating such a fantastic course that is an absolute joy to play, eat, & socialize with others! Great job gentlemen!
Great last golf day of the season for me
So happy the course stayed open for so long this year. One of my go-to 18 hole courses due to price, conditions, staff, and layout. See you next spring.

Late Novemeber Golf
Teed off at 10:00am at 34 degrees. Day warmed up to 50 and sunny. Course has some frost, but after 3 holes, saw no more frost. Fairways in great shape with a few spots that were wet. Tee boxes and greens in fantastic shape. hoping to get in another round before they close or snowfall.
