Fun course but does offer some challenges
Have played course several times during past few summers. Staff is helpful (except for the one young man who can't put his cell phone down while he is waiting on you). Course is challenging but you can shoot a good score on the course.
Okay course
Mix of wide open and tight holes with wetlands and hazards. Par 3's are all lengthy and the Par 5's are fairly challenging and long. Better to play from the back tees since the fairways run out on several holes. Course was in halfway decent shape but the rough was too penalizing for a public course. Received a lot of bird's nest lies and flyers coming out of the rough. I'd give this course another chance however.
Great little course
Totally enjoyed. Middle tees very reasonable (5 handicap) back fees more challenging but very playable. Course is laid out well... very scenic. And many holes are very well trapped.... be careful of hidden water/hazards. ....appear shorter than they play
Staff is very friendly and accommodating
Give it a shot.
Always a Pleasure to Play
Played Ridgewood many times and always enjoy the ride around the Big Lake from Lakeport to Moultonborough. Makes you appreciate living in NH. The course is always in playable condition and the pro shop crew will let you know if certain areas are being worked on. Great views of the mountains surrounding the course with challenging shots and both 9's. Once you play it, you'll always come back for more...
Fun course
I played the course on a wet fall morning. The course was in great shape. The course has a fun design with challenging holes. I would highly recommend this course to golfers in the lake region. The driving range is a little strange, but at least you are able to warm up before the round.
Consistently Good
This track is really fun.. Lots of scorable par 4's and challenging uphill/downhill shots as well. Course is always is great shape and it's especially beautiful when the leaves start to turn, giving players full mountain views from pretty much every hole! I'll be back even when it's a 74 mile trek r/t! See you guys next year!
Also, nice 19th hole with outdoor deck. The folks in the pro shop are always kind and welcoming even when booking as a single.. Courses in Ma need to take lessons from this place if they want to stay in business!
Bring extra balls!
Beautiful course cut into natural wetlands with lots of challenging hazards. Not an easy course. You'll use all your clubs.
The course played fair, but I wasn't thrilled with the back nine layout. You are always playing into another group heading in the opposite direction. It was windy so some holes played long into the wind. The staff was very friendly. Our cart died on us after # 10 so I had to run back to the club house for another one.
Great Course and great value!
Course was in great shape. Amazing prices. Play slowed down a little in late afternoon with a fair amount of people walking. Staff was nice and clubhouse has good selection of beer and people were great. Would not hesitate to play there again!
Great course
I love playing Ridgewood, the course was in great shape, not too difficult from the whites. The only issue I have is that you have to hit irons off the tee on par 5s.
Love this course!
Great course! Well maintained and The front 9 is the jewel. Shows you that it is a thinking man's game. You think you can carry it but, nope, you really need to lay up.
I've seen people mark it down for pace of play but I have never felt that it is excessively slow. Unfortunately, or fortunately, everybody plays at a different pace but the setting is so nice I always look forward to my next round.
Quality Course exceptional pro
The wood is a true hidden gem in NH golf. Great conditions and pace of play always. Unique holes and forgiving holes give the course a nice balance and flow. The best part of the course however is the golf professional and his staff. Truly a great private club experience. Mitch Jefferson has done a fantastic job keeping a balance of professional atmosphere, gorgeous pro shop presentation, and FUn aura. I will probably just come back to have a beer on the deck with Mitch and listen to him talk golf.
B-
It would have been an A if the play was faster. We were stuck behind a foursome that was extremely slow. Still a great deal and very nice course.
Good challenge
1st time playing the course. It was in good condition with very nice greens. Not having played before found it very challenging with numerous blind shots and hazards. The young fella in the pro shop was less than receptive, more interested in his smart phone than the customer. Course is worth playing
Nice hometown feel course
Greens were decent throughout the course. Fairways were getting really hard and scorched from the heat and apparent lack of water. Overall decent play and had fun.
