Birch Hill Country Club

I found the course challenging and fun. Lots of hazarards so it required more thinking than usual. The greens were fun, fast and challenging too. I think the course fees are VERY reasonable, even without a GolfNow special rate. I have a 3" handicap and mlisay golf partner has a 12 handicap and we both enjoyed the course immensely.

Very nice scenic layout. Don't let the first hole fool you, it gets tougher after an easy start. You can make it as difficult as your level. I played whites but blue and black looked much tougher. From whites there was a few target holes requiring a semi-short layup as it was too far for me to try to carry. Fairways and greens were in great shape. I had a little trouble reading them because of the terrain. Hot dogs were good staff was friendly. They also have a driving range but i didn't use it.

Friendly greeting,clean carts, and well maintained greens and fairways. Was a great setting for our reunion. Pace of play could have been better...an occasional marshal drive by would have been welcomed.. Looking forward to returning next year

Played the white tees which were pretty easy. Next time I go back i will play the blues. Just very good value for the money.

We booked this course on a last minute whim and I am glad that we did. It was a great price. Course was in unbelievable condition. Each hole was challenging, but not so much so that amateurs (like myself) were lost. We will definitely be back.

This was my second time playing this course and it was a great day. He course was in great shape, the greens were excellent. I would highly recommend. Great course and a great value.

Beautiful scenery, very good condition of fairways and greens.

Played from the blue tees, 6044 yds. Pace of play: 5-1/2 hours. Waited on every hole, even though the groups in front of us were playing from forward tees. No rangers to move play along.

We had a 1:30 tee time. Arrived to find an outing was scheduled to shotgun on holes 1-10 starting at 1pm.

We teed off at 1:30, caught the group ahead of us when we reached the 2nd tee. After that, we waited on every shot for the group ahead of us to proceed, and finished after 7pm.

Never saw a ranger trying to move the pace of play along ahead of us. We spent a lot of time talking with the two groups behind us, who, like us, were waiting on every shot all the way around. At one time, there were 4 groups of us on the same par 4, waiting for the groups ahead of us.

Too bad. Over 5-1/2 hours to play a short, 4 hour course.

Before you book...call the course and see if they have any outings scheduled ahead of you. If they do, pass on it...there are other courses available. Life is too short to play a short, easy to play golf course at that long a pace.

The golf course management should be more considerate of all golfers.

Can't beat the course or the wonderful views . Had a great time!

I play this course about 5 to 6 times a year while I'm up at the lake. I played with my son who is just learning the game and has a hard time with consistency on his shots so we like to play alone since I don't want to mess with someone else's game. We had a single join us and although he was understanding it was uncomfortable when he was trying to play a normal game. In any case the course's greens and pin placements were such that you had to drive the ball into the hole anything slow would break severely when getting close to the cup. I 3 putted 6 greens (which I never do) so I didn't score well. They also leave the grass very long around the greens so if you are not a good 'chipper' then you lose shots there too (which I did). Although the greens are fairly large you need to pay attention to control your approach shots because being on the wrong spot on the green means at least a 2 putt.

The course conditions are absolutely FANTASTIC! The Pro Shop staff and outside staff are the best around by far. Friendly, accommodating, and willing to help you in anyway they can. Just an absolute great experience and can't wait to go back!!

We've been getting a lot of rain in June so the course was a bit damp in the fairways but playable. The greens were spot on and rolled excellent. Not as hilly as the other courses I've played in NH but you need to know your carry yardages on your clubs since this is a course that will challenge you. Looking forward to playing it again.

For the price you can't get much better. Solid friendly staff, good range(floaters but better than most) and great course conditions. It's my 3rd time and all have been good. Tricky well kept greens and nice fairways and tees. Not very long but tricky around the greens! Def recommended.

The course is in excellent shape and has beautiful views. Great value even with their standard rates. I also seem to always play well here. Not sure if the slope from the blues of 129 is correct though. I'm a 20 handicap and average +15 here. Regardless I highly recommend.

Played with a buddy of mine and got paired up which is totally fine. However, the couple we played with didn't understand how many hazards this course has, and having trouble hitting the ball for distance, we spent the day helping them search for balls. Do a little research on a new course your going to play ahead of time.

A very well designed course with lots of character. Quite a few holes require less than driver for smartest play I like it because it requires though on most shots. Was in very good condition for a course that just opened for the season. Their driving range is very cool, being all water with an island green are buoys for targets.

Enjoyed round a lot and will definitely be back.
