Nice course
Considering it is par 60 you can play many shots
Joaham
Great for a day outing - the course is well maintained and the staff are very helpful. It would be nice to have a good concession.
worth the hot deal price
could use a hotdog/food stand on the turn.
awesome
sweet course great value can always get a tee time friendly staff
Tight tight
This course is very tight. There was little to no spacing off the 1st tee, therefore groups backed up quickly. The long distance between several holes caused delays with walkers.
No par 5's
All 3's and 4's was interesting!
Home your short game
Leave your driver and fairway metals in the car. This course is under 4000 yards from the back tees; par is 60. Fairways are tight. Greens are slow and rarely flat making two-putts a challenge. Power carts available but not necessary for most.
Very slow greens
I found this course to be a great way to fine tune your short game and work on accuracy as the fairways are tight. The one drawback is that the greens are VERY slow. They are long and not rolled at all. So when you do get on the greens, there is no way to accurately gauge how you are putting since you have to hit each putt much harder and this takes away any kind of feel for the greens. If there is a break you may actually putt through it since you have to hit the ball so hard. With that said, I will go back to simply work on my iron play.
Not bad for the price.
The major challenge in this course is the narrowness of the fairways which were bordered on both sides by trees and heavy vegetation. Get too far into the rough and give up on finding your ball. Course was in very good condition but greens were sa little slow.
A nice challenging tract
I was looking for a faster than usual round on Mother's Day so I tried Forge Pond. After a week of rain the course was very green but also very wet in spots. For an executive course I found it to be a challenge. Very tight and some par threes are 200+ yards and treelined. The greens were smallish and undulating so it was a challenge on every shot. Enjoyable.
What I expected
The starter was a jerk. After we paid I went outside with my receipt. He told us to get in line behind people that hadn't paid yet, with no one on the first tee. The group was nice and let us go.
Saw him again at the turn as we walked by the clubhouse and I said hello and waved as we passed him. He starred at is blankly without saying anything.
I really don't know why he was so unhappy. Perhaps he forgot to we are customers and he takes his job with a clipboard a little to serious.
A nice Challenge
The course is in great shape. It is a very challenging executive course where you have to be accurate with your shots. The greens rolled true with most greens having undulations. I arrived about an hour before my tee time and they allowed me to go right out. This is a great course to work on your short game and mental game for where to place your shots and what type of shot to hit. I will definitely play it again. The only negative was twigs on the greens from the strong winds the night before, but not a major concern, easy to remove. The staff was very friendly, the starter explained where the first tee was and the tenth tee along with other features of the course.
Short but challenging, bring your short game.
I don't normally write reviews but I stayed away from this course because the last review was particularly negative and I was pleasantly surprised. Short but challenging, greens and fairways were in pretty good condition. Absolutely worth the value.
The "almost" a golf course.
Not quite a golf course because the grounds are not well maintained. Tee boxes uneven unlevel. Fairways obscured by too many tree branches. Fairway grass too deep, difficult to find balls. Greens are really bad in many ways. Rough with dings and divots. Holes not set at proper depth causes pop outs and 370 degree rim rides. Holes are crowned. Debris all over. Not rolled. No two alike so can't use experience from one to another. No stimp meter readings. Grass type not bent. Overall too little area so hitting greens from 150 yards out results in roll off into 6" grass. Needs sand box at every one for leveling and filling divots. Also water spickets black from bacteria. Can only imagine what inside of water containers look like. Can't get a hot dog there. Coffee stale. Ball washers broken and water is muddy. No soap either. Putts almost go into cup, going errant inches before. *I'm not kidding! ****One good feature is a walk in the park and seeing animals.
Course in great condition
This Par 60 Course is well maintained, with narrow fairways, and generally difficult to hit greens. Great course to improve your short game.
Forge Pond
Overall the course is in good condition. Most of the holes are a little tight and as if that wasn't tough enough it is quite easy to lose balls in the rough or just off the rough...hitting fairways is essential, The greens are deceptively slow and the ball often doesn't break at all even when logic says it should.
Great County Course for the Money
This is a great county course for a reasonable price. The GolfNow app worked perfect to my groups advantage. We were at a BBQ the day before on Labor Day weekend and in minutes we were able to book a tee time for this course. This course is an iron course and the fairways are very narrow. This course is a great practice course to improve your iron game!
Nice Course for the Golfer Just Starting Out.
Greens and Fairways were in Good Condition as was the Bunkers.
