Not a pitch and putt
If you think this course is gonna be an easy one, think again and you better be accurate with your irons. This is an “executive style” course of mostly par 3’s complete with narrow approaches from the tee box. There are seven par 4’s which include dog legs and one hole with only 20 yard wide gap to fit your drive in. The par 3’d range from about 100 yards to 170 yards depending on the tee box used (we used the white). If you aren’t accurate with ALL of your shots, consider your ball lost. Greens are decent size and held nicely but the pace was very slow due to fuzzy greens (perhaps to save from the high heat and low rain this area has been under for over 3 weeks now I’ll definitely be back.
Great but slow greens
Was like putting on my carpet. But aside from that great shape. Play here like 20 times a year because it's right by my house. Love it for a quick round cheap with the hot deals and golf points. Cart dropoff guy is my favorite guy here. Super nice.
Forge Pond
It is not augusta, but for the price its hard to be beat for someone with minimal skill. Love Forge Pond!
Loved the layout of this couse
Gorgeous day, play was slow as you really need to wait for group ahead of you to finish the hole before teeing off most holes. But what a nice track, well maintained, slow greens but very interesting green complexes. Par 3s are legit distances, some groups left after 9 and we cruised through back nine. Highly recommend this course but just be prepared to be patient as it can take some time between holes.
Incredibly rude staff
We played here earlier in the week and had a great experience. The ranger tried out one of my clubs and made the experience seem very casual. We decided to go back for this reason. We hit a little traffic and ended up being 5 minutes late for our tee time. They were livid about that acting like they had way too many people going out for us to squeeze in after we already paid. They then let us go out. We were behind some beginner players walking the course. We were constantly right on top of them on the front 9 and it cost us a lot of sunlight. It was about 7 pm and the ranger said carts have to be in at 7:45 we said “sure thing, no problem” and continued. Without the kids in front of us from the front 9 we were able to get through 5 more holes in 35 minutes. On the 16th hole at 7:40 My buddy hit the best drive of the day right outside the hole, mine landed in the sand right outside the green. The ranger then came up to us and said “yea i know you technically have 20 minutes or more of daylight (we had an hour of daylight still) you guys are done so pick up your balls and follow me back in” i said okay no problem can we just finish this hole since we’re like on the green? And he said “no pick up your ball then snarkily said nice try but pick it up lets go” i said alright thats fine you said 7:45 and its 7:40 but thats fine we’ll come back. So obviously we’re a little frustrated that they didnt let us finish and we’re driving back and theres 4 people playing on the 18 and the ranger let them play so i just asked hey how come you let them finish and not us? And he said well they were on 18 you were on 16. So i said well i was finished after this hole regardless so i dont see why it would matter that youll let 4 people play 18 but wont let us 2 play 16. And we were respectful about it and his response was “well how do i put this nicely TOO BAD GO HOME” so i said sure no problem ill never play there again just because of that ranger. Never met someone so rude in my life. Horrible experience. Would not recommend and i plan on telling everyone i know to stay away from that course due to how rude they were.
Forge pond
Was extremely over crowded, came as a single was sent out myself with threesome behind me, ended up with the group anyway after three holes. The group behind us was with the threesome and began hitting over our heads and almost being hit three times. Pace of play was extremely slow and left after 9 holes. Very disappointing experience.
Great Par 60 Course
The course is in great condition, fairways are maintained, tee box in decent shape, normal wear, grounds crew doing a terrific job.
A couple of doglegs, water hazard.
Great for walking as well.
