Green Knoll Golf Course
About
Green Knoll Golf Course in Bridgewater Township has a varied terrain that provides a unique character to the course. The course sprawls across gently rolling hills dappled with mature trees. Much of the course's challenges are a result of the tricky contours. Some of the elevation changes are dramatic but there are also some subtle ones, which can be just as tricky. Further accuracy is required to maneuver the tight fairways. There are definitely challenges in store throughout but overall the golf course's playability appeals to all skill levels, from novices to avid golfers. It measures a manageable 6,443 yards from the back tees. In addition to the 18-hole course, there is also a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course. Green Knoll is one of five golf courses operated by the Somerset County Park Commission.

Still challenging as I remember...
It has been a year since I played this course and quickly reminded how it can turn on you if you don't bring driving accuracy to the course. Each hole is unique in its own way to create a challenge and that's what makes this course interesting. The course is maintained well both fairways and greens. Some tricky greens dependant on pin placing on that day...reading green sometimes confusing which way it breaks. The green speed is decent with a slight variation in speed. I would love to see faster green to make it even more interesting. Many holes have fairway undulation and having to deal with the ball either below or above your feet. Of course not to be disappoint you the front 9 has a number of holes with water hazards come into play. Definitely take few more rounds to be familiar with the course to end with a good round for the day.
Nice Course
Wide open. Well maintained. Good value. Friendly staff. What more could a mid handicapper want?
First Time, and Will be Back
Green Knoll is am nice walking course, for my first time there I was fortunate to be paired with another golfer who knew the course and gave me some direction. Even with help I still made a mess out a few of them, will be back to try and do better. Nice course, nice day! Somerset County is fortunate to have some nice courses.
Like a day in the park
The greens were in good shape and the fairways were firm so there was a good roll out on the drives. It was great weather which made it all the better. I believe this is the next best course to neshanic in the Somerset system.
Gorgeous
Besides getting a Late Start because of No Carts Available ...
The Course is a Beauty and we’ll maintained .. The Starter was A Very Nice Guy and We Had A Great Day for Sure .. Worth the Hour Ride !!!
Great Course
Great course and pace of play. I always enjoy playing here.
Good value
Course is in good shape except for the sand traps near the greens. They were filled with water. And some lower lying areas are very wet and muddy...but aside from that, the course played well.
I had to wait for an individual cart...but it showed up right before our tee time. The starter wasn’t happy with that, but I wasn’t go to share a cart with a stranger in these times.
EXCELLENT CONDITIONS.
1st time playing this course and I’ll definitely be back. Greens t boxes and fairways were all in great condition. Staff was great. Pace of play was fine. Stuck behind 4 walkers who kept it moving. Not a big deal.
4 hrs. is acceptable on a Friday afternoon. Only complaint was 3 ppl I was paired w had ZERO golf etiquette !!!! Walking in my line on green. Picked up my call to see if it was theirs. Good course just bad luck w ppl I was paired with. I’ll be back. Hot deal on GN can’t be beat!!! Worth the 45 min drive.
Play here
Course is in fabulous shape. Greens were true and fairways are well maintained. A touch ‘soft,’ but overall very good shape. Course has some very challenging holes- strategy and ability to be precise are required on several holes (#8 is just mean!), while others are straightforward and opportunities to score. My only beef would be the rough. Not overgrown like many courses do because that’s the easy and dumb way to penalize you, but just thick- be prepared to bear down and muscle up, this stuff is unbelievable. Staff was great and personable. A really nice course.
Great Valley Views.. Otherwise Unremarkable
A little odd that I showed up 15 minutes before my time but the starter had my group of 3 (I was a single) on the teebox. Had I not been there at that very moment... Who knows if I'd have even found a place.
Worse was his attitude. I said I'm 10 minutes early... His response "Not according to my watch"... I showed him the time on the phone (a bit more reliable and accurate)
Not a huge deal but NO GOLFER likes to walk from the car to the teebox. I tied my shoe on the 1st box. Annoying.
It was "Hurry Up to Wait" all day.
Nice course with good layout
The course is well maintained during the COVID-19 Pandemic. It is a pleasant time playing the course over and over again.
