Overall
I have played here several times over the years. I know what I’m getting and it is a dependable course with some challenges at times. Overall not bad. I however wish they would do something with the cart path. Mostly terrible if not horrible.
The restaurant is great. Good atmosphere, food and portions great. Portions maybe to much but much more impressive then years past.
Cream Ridge Slow Play
Overall the course was great. Play was slow because of some players ahead of us. They need a ranger to go around the course to speed up play
Starter was a JERK
Love playing this course a few times each year but after this experience I won't be returning. After checking in with the starter 15 mins before tee time he curtly told us to head immediately to the second tee and refused to tell us why we couldn't tee off on first hole and whether we would play hole 1 after the turn on 18. Just kept obnoxiously and condescendingly telling us the hole is closed right now with no desire to explain why. After proceeding to hole two we observed no reason for hole 1 to be closed as tee to green the hole was in fine shape with no one working on it. After making the turn on hole 9 we observed people playing hole 1 and once again we asked the same starter why the hole was closed when we teed off and if we could play the hole after we finish hole 18 and he refused to answer. His behavior was unacceptable especially since we were nothing but friendly and respectful. Maybe he was having a bad day but thats no reason to be rude to the customers. We won't be returning again this year which is a shame because we like the course and love the restaurant. Maybe next year we give it another chance.
Not worth the time
Let start with the Tee Boxes, they were in terrible shape. The only thing in decent shape on this course was the fairways because they don’t want you driving on them. The greens were molasses slow and pock marked with divots, you can forget about cart paths they were in horrendous shape. Par 5’s shouldn’t be reachable with a driver and sand wedge. Make them par 4’s. Overall this is a one and done course that wasn’t worth the time or money to play.
Nice Course
Had an enjoyable golf outing on a steamy Hot Friday.
Course was in good shape. Excellent greens, except for some noticeable divots.. Golfers- fix your divots
Fairways & tee boxes were good.
Recommended.
