Opened in 1929, Old Orchard Country Club has a classic design with challenges that stand up to modern golf courses. Throughout the course, you'll see traces of the site's former use as a farm. Ancient apple trees from the original orchard frame many of the holes. The diverse layout will test you with a variety of different shots but the gently rolling terrain makes for an easy walk. Skill and strategy will be generously rewarded but it's not an overly punishing layout for the high handicapper. Old Orchard's greens play true and fast and they are often flanked with strategically positioned bunkers. A stream wanders through the golf course, coming into play on several holes. Golfers will face a tricky island green on the par-5 seventh hole as well as an almost-island green on the par-4 13th.

Shortage of working motorized carts here
The sign in the pro shop encouraged walking this course. Here’s why. As my GolfNow tee time included a motorized cart, I took one for a late afternoon tee time. If I got 12 holes in before sunset I would call it a day. The cart ran out of juice on the 5th hole so I called the pro shop for a replacement. Ok great. Playing again with a new cart. It also runs out of juice after one hole. This has never happened to me in 30 years playing the links. Granted the course was busy on a two day break from the frigid weather, it seems they only have a handful of working motorized carts in circulation. I gave up after that and returned the cart and left. The course needs work and it’s actually a nice layout with some unique holes, I hope they fix the problems up because its one of the only courses in the area.

Rip off
Worst conditioned course in New Jersey. Tre boxes fairways and greens were horrible. Charged $40 and quit after 8 holes. Should be closed

Poor condition overall
Maybe it's because of the normal wear and tear but the fairways and greens are horrible. Worst course that I have played for awhile. Definitely need a complete overhaul. Staff members were great and very helpful.

No one cares who works here
The pro shop kid couldn’t care less about checking me in and was rude, offered no cart (there also were none available), and the course is not kept up with at all. There were four groups on one hole because there’s no starter or employees keeping things running. Do not come here.

Only play here if its a great deal or you're desperate
Fairways cut the same length as the rough. Greens have giant bare spots. "sand" traps are 90% rocks and mud. I played because it was 20 minutes from home and it was a 30 dollar hot deal on a Sunday. But had I known it was this bad I would have much rather payed more for a better course.

This used to be an excellent course. When I saw that there was a an 8am tee time available on a Sunday I should’ve known better. Tragic!
