Opened in 1929, Old Orchard Country Club has a classic design with challenges that stand up to modern golf courses. Throughout the course, you'll see traces of the site's former use as a farm. Ancient apple trees from the original orchard frame many of the holes. The diverse layout will test you with a variety of different shots but the gently rolling terrain makes for an easy walk. Skill and strategy will be generously rewarded but it's not an overly punishing layout for the high handicapper. Old Orchard's greens play true and fast and they are often flanked with strategically positioned bunkers. A stream wanders through the golf course, coming into play on several holes. Golfers will face a tricky island green on the par-5 seventh hole as well as an almost-island green on the par-4 13th.

Horrid
This was easily the worst golf course I have ever played. The greens were all burnt out. The tee boxes were overgrown and unkempt.
Awful all around

Needs new ownership
The course has the potential to be amazing, but it seems they have a lack of funds to upkeep the property. The course layout is similar to Sun Eagle, and the staff are extremely friendly.
Hopefully a new owner or investor will come in to help rebuild the course because it does have the potential to be amazing. Unfortunately for now, good luck finding your hall even on the fairway because this place looks to be mowed once a week.

Not worth the money
My cart died on the second hole - they came to change the cart saying, they can‘t say whether a cart is charged or dying soon.
There were kids playing in front of me having no idea about golf or etiquette. No starter or anybody else who controls what is going on.
The course is in a very bad condition. Not worth to spend any money there if you want to play golf. If you just want to have fun in a group, may be it’s the right place to go but not for a serious round of golf. It’s definitely the last time I was there also I‘ve tried it again and again over the last years.

Rough shape
This course is not maintained at all. Has crab grass on the greens and they haven’t been cut in forever. Fairway is basically just grass as are the tee boxes. Play elsewhere.

Terrible maintenance and overpriced
I’m sorry but they have no right charging what they charge for this course, the fairways were badly kept, overgrown rough everywhere and some of the worst green maintenance I’ve ever seen in ocean county…. Not to mention the carts are in crap condition and are never charged… had to swap at the turn the last 2 times I played here…Stay away from this dump if you can it’s not worth the price tag….

Needs maintance
The course needs work, the greens are still horrible. They really really slow and bumpy.

Horrible
This course is used and abused. You can't tell the fairway from the rough. Garbage all over the place. It's horrible not worth the money

DON’T DO IT!!!!!
Hands down, the worst course I’ve ever played!! No tee boxes, no fairways, and greens are trash!! Didn’t see one maintenance person, and it showed!! I feel like I just got taken advantage and of!!. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging people any amount of money to play there, especially $65!!!

Love the layout
While the conditions weren't country club perfect the course design is one of Mr favorites, a diamond in the rough.

Needs lots of TLC
The tee boxes were firm and not well maintained. Greens were cut, but super slow. Most bunkers were unplayable (weeds, standing water, hard top exposed). However, it was inexpensive which made it a value especially to beginner golfers. I kept my expectations low and played in practice mode with my novice family members.

Upon arrival no carts were available even though the parking lot was fairly empty and not many people on the course. We then had to pay additional to obtain push carts even though we prepaid for carts. The course itself was not in any good condition. Tee boxes were barely mowed or marked and missing most of the box markers. There was garbage on most of the holes. Fairways/greens had plenty of dead grass along with no distinction with mowing. Looked like a backyard Bunkers were all in bad condition with hard sand and holes and not graded. Overall only good thing was that there was no one there so pace of play was never an issue. Glad there was a deal on Golf now because at 70 dollars I would have been extremely dissatisfied. Even 45 was too high a price.
We paid for carts and upon arrival were told that none were available with minimal people in the parking lot so there must not be many available in general. We then were charged for push carts with no refund for the prepaid cart fee. Tee boxes were not mowed and markers were missing along with garbage on most holes. Fairways were brown along with no real cut difference between any section of the course.

Tee boxes are over grown. Greens are burnt out on some holes. Not all fairways are mowed. They told me their equipment is broken

Beautiful course architecture, terrible course management/maintenance
I really can’t grasp how they justify charging the prices they they charge. Where to even begin.
Carts always die mid round, the fairways are in such terrible condition they may as well be the rough, as you just as early lose balls hitting it down the middle of the fairway as you would into the woods, sand traps may as well be brick, greens may as well be rough as well.
If you want to spend 50-80 bucks a round, you’re better off spending 90-100 at a course that actually cares about maintaining their grounds.
At this point you can tell the owner is just laughing at you while you spend an unjustifiable price at this course while they wait to cash in and sell the land to be redeveloped into town homes. What an insult to a Tillinghast designed course

The Course Needs Some TLC
This is not a course that you take clients to to impress them. The course needs a great deal amount of maintenance done, although the greens were in reasonable shape. I like the fact that you can walk, the course is not that crowded, and that the those folks golfing there know that they are to just play golf.
