Opened in 1929, Old Orchard Country Club has a classic design with challenges that stand up to modern golf courses. Throughout the course, you'll see traces of the site's former use as a farm. Ancient apple trees from the original orchard frame many of the holes. The diverse layout will test you with a variety of different shots but the gently rolling terrain makes for an easy walk. Skill and strategy will be generously rewarded but it's not an overly punishing layout for the high handicapper. Old Orchard's greens play true and fast and they are often flanked with strategically positioned bunkers. A stream wanders through the golf course, coming into play on several holes. Golfers will face a tricky island green on the par-5 seventh hole as well as an almost-island green on the par-4 13th.

Solid Option
Good for an easy round, nothing too crazy. Snack stand available with a grill on 2 holes which is great. Can buy beers with a cooler before teeing off. Staff very friendly, pro shop has what you need. Plenty of parking. The place overall is just outdated but still a solid course.

Sad...
$80 gets you...
The worst tee boxes ever seen. Not cleans or reseeded. All crabgrass.
The bunkers, if even filled with sand were clearly not maintained all season.
Fairways were not kept clean or manicured.
The bathroom/locker room was something out of Crystal Lake! It was absolutely disgusting!
We had an absolute blast golfing with another rando pair of gentlemen. The course looks like it was amazing, 20 years ago.
I was wondering why it was the only place available for a tee time this morning.
Good course but dated

I have played here quite a few times over the last 5 years and the recent visit was the best I have seen the course look. Fairways and rough were mowed. Greens fairly good. Even some raked traps. Overall very much improved from last visit.

Old orchard
New management the course is much nicer than it used to be. Still a few things that need work but it is a great experience.

A Gem!
Lovely old school course. Gorgeous, spacious and really pretty throughout the round. Greens in great shape. A little rough around the edges in a good retro way. Definitely a hidden gem.

Unacceptable Course Conditions
Overall a sloppy course. No fairway on hole 18 due to the course being unkept/ neglected. Holes and dirt patches in every fairway. One of the signs for a hole indicating the distance and layout was broken in half. It seems like nobody takes care of the course quite frankly. $60 is way too pricey for this dog track. On top of it all, the emergency brake on the golf cart was basically unusable. It was hard to park on hills without the cart rolling away. The strap to hold the golf clubs doesn’t work so you may lose your clubs mid round while driving. I do not recommend this course to anyone who is looking to golf in the area. Staff was very rude and unprofessional when explaining the guidelines of their course. Although it is only a 9 hole course, William F Larkin Golf Course at Colonial Terrace is way better bang for your buck and I would rather play their course twice than Old Orchard once.

Nice, relaxed round.
Facilities off course need an upgrade, but staff very relaxed and friendly. Course in good shape. Greens variable (speed), but clean and lush early in season. Will play again!
