first time this happened
My wife and I had a 2:40 T time.
We were started a little early, behind a foursome.
Obviously we waited on every hole. The foursome seemed to not be aware , or didn't want to be aware of a twosome that could have played through. There were four holes between them and the group in front of them.
Ultimately, we skipped a couple of holes and got around them.
At dinner that evening , I wondered if those gentlemen had finished yet...
I can't say that Centerton Golf Club was at fault.
I can say that the foursome was inconsiderate.

Bar
The bar wasn't open when the website said it would be ! We talked to a woman that worked there and she was very rude !
Crab Grass Capitol
There is not much new to write here. The greens at this course are very good for a public course, year in and year out. The fairways on August 24th were an embarassment to any greenskeeper at any level of the game. The rough, 8 inches tall on Number 10, would challenge a seasoned professional. Its not the way they want it; they just can't keep up with the mowing...or the fertilizing...or the fairways. The price I paid, barely more than a session at a driving range, gave me value. Pity the guy paying $25-$30. This is a course in decline. They either have no budget, or no management. Play it while its there.
Centerton CC
The course has had really nice greens in the past two years and still holds true today. The rest of the course could use a lot of help. I was in a fairway and my ball was hidden in the grass as it was so high. Tee boxes look like a patch of crab grass that was cut two weeks ago. Sand traps have actual crab grass growing in them throughout...not just the edges...like through the entire trap. Check hole 15.
We had two hackers in front of us who would spend literally 13 minutes in the woods looking for a ball. We had to skip a hole to pass them because they were not offering us to play through. No ranger
Needs work
Played here for years and have never seen it so neglected. The greens were the best part except many had areas that were dirt. There was little difference between fairway and rough. Tee boxes were combo of grass, weeds and dirt. Sand traps had crab grass growing in most. Senior and ladies tees were markers placed in the rough.
Old Hickory
I've played this course in all weathers, and in the ups and downs of course conditions over a forty year period. I continue to come back, always hoping for a lower score on this course that appears beatable, but isn't.
This is a par 71 with a slope of 119 from the blues. The slope is way low.
Come play, keep your ball out of the ever-present woods and enjoy the chance to bread 80!
Some fun holes to play.
Layout of the course is fun but condition of greens and fairways could use a lot more TLC.
Centerton is middling
Not a bad layout, lots of tree lined holes but with decent space in between. I thought the 116 slope from the blues (~6,200 yds) was understated. Probably could be 119-120.
Course conditions were poor, with some sand tees and rough fairways. Greens were soft and slow (had heavy rains the night before).
I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars at best. But for $11.49 it was worth exploring.
Great place to play
I play once a week and I love place and the layout. I will never get tired of playing their.
Decent course for the price
First time playing at Centerton. It was a nice course. A bit mundane. A lot of straight holes, back and forth. But overall, not bad. It was pretty wide open. Not the best kept fairways BUT if your looking for a good course for a beginner such as myself that's pretty wide open, you can't beat the price. Really enjoyed the Pas 3's. They had some character, and scenic view. My only 2 complaints. 1) It's easy to lose the ball in deep clover right off the fairway. (I hit a good drive off the tee on a par 5, missed the fairway by no more than 5 feet... never found my ball in the clover) and 2) If you are thinking of playing Centerton, go soon. I would be willing to bet that by mid to late summer the greens will be in bad shape, they are already starting to show signs of it. (brown spots etc)
The fairways are wide open...
1st time playing this course. $12 hot deal...couldn't beat it for the price. Nice course to go out and perfect your game. Not a top notch course but for $12 it was worth it. I will go back if I get another deal that good.
worth the trip
It has probably been 25 years since I played here and I remembered nothing. I came away pleasantly surprised playing on Memorial Day for 40 bucks that included a beer and a hot dog. The course is straight forward and fun and not long but it was soaked from rain the day before and it played long this day. The greens were smooth and rolled fine on the slow side. I would have no problem going back. The course is mostly tree lines but it is so wide open that they rarely come into play.
Needs some work
This is not a bad course, but the downside during our round was that the grass is not well managed. Lots of long grass and thick clover everywhere. Also the sand traps were rock hard and not raked. On the upside it was not crowded and I was able to get in 18 in about 3 1/2 hours.
Bababoooyee
The course was in pretty good shape even though there'd been a lot of rain prior to tee time sand traps could use some raking and the 9th hole Snack Shack should be open other than that a very good course for a fraction of the price of a running deer or White Oaks. How ard sterns peanuts.
