great value!!!
Centerton GC course conditions are much improved from the last time i played. This course has always been a great value for what they charge. A little hidden gem in south jersey. Outstanding layout very challenging for public golf if you play the back tees!! The finishing holes are very long and challenging.
Enjoyed the round
Course fairways were very wet and soft due to rainfall previous day on Tuesday most of day. Greens were slow due to moisture remaining on greens also.
Good value
Greens have bad spots but the rest of course is good great place to practice
Excellent value
Nice course but greens are rough lots of bad spots
Centerton Delivers
Centerton Golf Course is situated within Parvin State Park, it provides great scenery and a chance to mingle with local wildlife. Great Facilities, Bar & Restaurant - Course was in great shape, able to drive the Cart everywhere. The Parking Lot just got a major facelift so there isn't a bad place to park. Golfed until the Sunset, drove back to the Clubhouse in the dark - great time!
Poor conditions
Thank goodness this course only cost me $10 and was under 4 hours of play. Lousy tee boxes, burnt out fairways, and beat up greens. Apparently, a group ahead at some point had no etiquette or were purely lazy in fixing ballmarks. Routinely came upon 3 or 4 fresh ones every green. I took the time to fix them, which I'm okay with since most don't fix them properly anyway. Layout was subpar. There weren't any holes where I felt were cool design. I won't be running back here again anytime soon. I try to play as many different courses as possible. And I was told this was very nice but everyone has a different opinion.
Needs to be addressed
Had some anxious moments when checking in at the pro shop and being told that my paperwork with the confirmation number did not say 'paid in full'. Two of the employees had to research via emails to see if the tee time for 152pm was valid and was paid for in full. Ensuring that the country club or golf course is notified in a more effective manner would be much better.
Great golf day at Centerton
I am older and can't hit the ball very far. I played the gold tees and enjoyed that option very much. The greens were very good. I've always enjoyed Centerton but it is a bit of a ride for me. The pricing is very reasonable and it is one of the best golf values in south jersey. I played with a long time friend from college. That, the weather and the course made it a fantastic day.
Better Options Out There
Course is in bad shape. Used to be one of my favorites but it has gone downhill quite a bit over the last couple of years. Tee box condition is awful, fairways are decent, greens are pretty good. Rough is mostly crabgrass. Will only go back as a last resort.
poor condion
Tee boxes very rough, weedy and bare areas. Fairway weedy and needed cutting. Staff was friendly, that was about the only positive about this course.
Good Week End Value
The staff was friendly and helpful upon arrival. We were told there was a small outing in front of us. We were expecting a long day. We did have to wait at times but was still able to finish the round in 4 1/2 hours, not bad for a week end. The greens did have dead spots and there was a lot of crab grass in the rough. Overall a nice experience.
Shabby
The course was a little shabby. Losing some greens, fairways were not good. Have played there many times in the past and it has deteriorated.
Hidden gen
Very wide open course. Hard to get in trouble anywhere. Very little water. Staff was very friendly and let us go out as a twosome with no gripes. Played 18 holes in three hours. Very good value , Will definitely play there again.
Player beware-----poor green conditions!
I have enjoyed played Centerton numerous times over the past 15 years but have not played this course since 2012.
I have to say I was greatly disappointed with the condition of the course following my recent play. The greens on the 1st nine holes were in fair/poor condition due to burnout. As such, there were numerous patches of repaired green areas that were difficult to putt over. However, the biggest complaint I have is the number of exposed 3" black plastic discs located on many of the greens. Many of these plastic discs are located about 1/2' below the grade of the green. These discs are either pop-up sprinkler head covers or previous pin location covers. On several occasions, we had to purposely move the position of our ball several inches right or left of our putting line to avoid putting over these depressed discs. In over 30 years of playing golf, I have never seen this green condition on any other golf course!
Unfortunately, I can't recommend this course at this time to anyone looking for an enjoyable round of golf until Centerton Golf Course corrects its greens problems.
Get what you pay for
Greens in bad condition. No rakes in sand trap. Not we'll taken care of
Good day
Pace was a little slow 1st 9, but opened up back nine into the sun, but over all it was a good day. Cart path needs work, pot holes & roots. Shot my first 88.
Good not great.
Tee box grass was too high...some greens needed repair. Overall decent shape and fun place to play.
