One of many scenic holes at Spring Meadow Photo submitted by Cory3302115 on 06/23/2014
Great layout, conditions getting better
I was there in late march when the new owners had barely gotten the keys. The greens were in horrible shape.
Played there a week ago and the greens were absolutely fantastic, everything around the course has been improving
This course is actively improving
The course is dramatically improved from last year. Grounds keepers are now visible and working hard to make improvements. Some of the tee boxes, however, are in need of repair. The restaurant is still closed, but I understand it is being scheduled for future use
In decline as of 2025
I’ve played this course >10x and find it declining for the following reasons:
1) No free water available, as hot as it gets at this course, water should be available every 6 holes. It’s the standard for every other course in the county. Heat stroke happens and it’s just negligence not having it out there. Availability for purchase is limited to club house.
2) course conditions are “furry” considering the recent hike in tee time prices. (nearly 45%). To start you could fix the halfway house or just tear it down. It’s an eye sore that’s been there for years. The bathrooms are also kind of furry.
3) chick filet sauce cups are everywhere. Maybe just get the old restaurant back or something like it and ditch the fast food.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
WEATHER WAS CLOUDY BUT MUGGY
FAIRWAYS WERE GOOD
GREENS need repair of divots
TRAPS WERE ABSOLUTELY AWLFUL-STONES, ROCKS, and all DIRT IN THE TRAPS. COULD BREAK YOUR CLUB.
MISSING GARBAGE CANS ON MAJORITY OF HOLES.
NO WATER COOLERS ON ANY HOLES.
SATELLITE STILL SHOWING OLD LAYOUT OF COURSE.
MAJORITY OF LONG COURSES DO NOT END ON A PAR 3. OUR FOURSOME SAID THE PAR 3 SHOULD BE HOLE 15, THEN MOVE TO THE OLD HOLE ONE FOR 16 TO 18 FINISHING ON A LONGER HOLE.
Change for the better.
New course management and it shows. Staff is on top of everything, greens and fairways are in very good condition. One complaint from one in our Foursome was the lack of 150 yard poles or markers on course. It didn't bother me as I'm just a hack anyway.
Great pace good conditions
The new order of the holes make the course pace quicker and the management is tring to get it int,o better shape. They have brought back an elevated tee on a short par four which makes the hole challenging for the whites and blues which I think is now 11. Keep up the great work and service!
Local Jersey public cours
Tee boxes are in poor shape, no water at tee boxes
Boxes. Asphalt cart paths are very bumpy
The staff was good. If you played SpringMeadow before. It was a shock to see help with bags and stuff. Didn’t know they were bought out. The worst part was the tee boxes. I’m sure they we work on that.
Needs TLC
I love this course. The layout is fun with some challenging holes and some easier ones, giving it a good balance. It's also in a remote area so it's very quiet and away from noisy roads.
Unfortunately, the quality of the course maintenance is very uneven. For the most part, fairways are ok, although some have spotty issues such as bald spots. The greens are in pretty good shape. The tee boxes however are in an awful shape, and I mean Awful!. They all need to be redone.
The pace of play was extremely good but I was playing on 90° temperature at noon so the place was quite empty when I teed off.
The staff is very nice.
The price is a little steep for the overall experience but I wouldn't write this course off nevertheless.
Course has improved greatly
Last year this course showed just how little the owners cared about how the players were impacted by the downward spiral of the course conditions. Bridges were collapsed, restaurant closed and grass was not even trimmed. This year, lots of groundskeepers, pro shop was redone (with a pleasant and professional staff) and the overall appearance is greatly improved.
No water
There was not a drop of water on this course on a 96o day. A starter came around with a cooler and offered 1 bottle of water. In spite of having brought 2 bottles, and a thermos myself, I still needed more to complete the round. When I asked the kid in the pro shop why there was no water on course, no cart girl, no halfway house, basically no way to get any more without finding the ranger who had a cooler, he said we don't have water on any of our courses. This is a new management company that took over this year. Apparently they have their own way of doing things and don't really appreciate feedback from their customers.
Beautiful course, very well run
My nephew and I tried this one for the first time and a very relaxing game. Very crowded, but the staff did an amazing job of launching foursomes at a nice regular pace. We were paired up with a couple of lovely gents who shared their extensive knowledge of each hole. We had loads of fun.
