Flanders Valley Golf Club - Red/Gold Course

About
Flanders Valley Golf Course boasts two championship courses that sprawl across the rolling countryside of Morris County. The facility is considered one of the best public golf courses in New Jersey and has even been ranked as one of the top 75 public courses in the country. The Red-to-Gold Course has a hillier terrain than the other course, White-to-Blue, which has a more traditional design. It is the more challenging of the two courses with mature trees scattered throughout and uneven lies provided by the elevation changes, which also offer scenic views of the idyllic surroundings. The Red-to-Gold's seventh hole is the most difficult of all the 36 holes at Flanders. This tricky par 4 has trees flanking both sides and it is also subject to the prevailing winds.

overall very very good - staff was exceptional with
the right friendly attitude even though it was a busy day for them.
Great round on the 4th
Busy but well managed. Great pace of play on the holiday. Challenging but fair course, with some interesting holes requiring club choice. Easy par 3s.
Fairways and greens were in good condition but some tee boxes had bare spots. Pace of play was 4:50 but it was a holiday and fully booked. Good value for a municipal coarse.
Great day
It rained in the morning and no one came out. I teed off at 1:30 probably finished around 4:30
Needs new management
I have played this course for many years. It is a shame what it has become. Bunkers full of water, with no rain for a few days and no sand.
Round took over 5 hours and never saw a ranger, but they had at least 4 starters! There were at least 4 holes open in front of the group holding everything up. That was as far as we could see.
It was absolute torture, not one time could we get to a tee and hit. When we got to the 10th tee, there was a group on the green (the one holding everyone up), one in the fairway and 2 waiting on the tee.
