Fall Out
The weather was right and the golf group was right. The course was much better than the last go around. No issues!
Just being honest
This course might be second to Rockleigh blue in terms of course conditions and layout. Tee boxes were brown with hints of green patches, fairways blended in with the rough and felt like concrete on some holes, and the greens were infested with gnats/flies that would fly into your mouth mid-putt. I have also never heard so many groups yell fore - not solely due to their skill level, but because several holes were placed next to each other. There was one hole I was about to tee off when a ball landed 10 yards from me. I move onto the next hole and proceed to do the same exact thing and narrowly miss the group teeing off. I wouldn't golf here for free if I had the option so I highly recommend not wasting your money here.
Friendly staff!
This course is almost an hour drive for us, but we really appreciate the staff there- the office guys, the starter, they all try to make us feel welcome and appreciated.
Course is getting better but needs some attention in certain areas
I play this course very regularly. Like 5-7 times a month due to the great staff and pleasant experience I always have playing here. They recently added trackers to the carts to help with yardage and pace of play, which is a very nice addition. They have also started having carts go around with snacks and drinks which is awesome.
One issue is the speed of the carts. Most are extremely slow, and I mean slow jog slow. Almost to the point of some carts not being what I would consider a cart, and most could probably walk faster through the course. There are very very slow player groups on this course at times, and I think the slowness of the carts add to this....
The day we played, they were aerating the greens, which is fine as this course's greens have been in extraordinary state over the last month or two. There was no mention of the green state or that they aerated the greens. Paid full price but would have been nice to know the state of the greens before play.
The ONE major item this course needs is sand trap assistance. They are all filled with rocks and very little sand. It isn't worth playing out of 80% of them due to the fact you will most likely destroy a club
I really enjoy this course, if they can fix the sand traps and occasional very SLOW player groups, this course would be a near 99%.
Need to give $5 or license for the golf cart key. Never had that before. Some down tree branches but overall in good shape.
Getting better but pace of play needs to be better
The course has come a very long way since I first came here in 2022. The Rocco’s are doing a great job of revitalizing the greens and fairways. Tee boxes need work but other than that no complaints on the condition. My biggest issue is pace of play, they really need to do a better job policing it because I’ve had times where it took me 5 hours as a single, waiting on every single tee box and in the fairway as well.
That being said I will always have an attachment to this course as it is the first place I broke 90. The front and back feel like completely different golf courses, it’s a cool layout and very scoreable if you keep the ball in the fairway
Course has come along way
I usually try to get single rounds in if I can and this place is perfect if you need a great intro back into the season. Holes are on the shorter side but make for great birdie attempts and even some drive able par 4s.
Pace of play is a bit on the slower side, I wish they would Marshall that a bit better but this all depends on when your on the course.
The greens have been in fantastic shape, the course is getting better all the time. Tee boxes were a bit rough on a few holes but overall not too bad. Staff is always awesome. I really enjoy playing this course.
Ever improving
Jim and team are doing an amazing job of putting their heart and soul into the next phase of growth and it shows.
I came for a 9:40 with my son, who is 15, and we played the white tees. It's a fun, at times very tight and challenging course. Appropriate for all skill levels.
Will return soon
Utterly disappointing
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The course itself was in rough shape – dry fairways, patchy greens, and sand traps that looked like they hadn’t been touched in weeks. But even worse than the course conditions was the way we were treated.
We were the last tee time of the day, playing a casual scramble best ball round — meaning we were using the same ball and sharing clubs. Completely normal and allowed at almost every other course we’ve ever played. But the miserable man at the starter station had other ideas.
He came at us with such a nasty tone and forced my friend to rent clubs, claiming, “We’re busy,” even though we were literally the last group out. There was no reasoning with him. His attitude was so aggressive and confrontational that we honestly felt unsafe — like we were being interrogated instead of welcomed to play a round.
And then his little “caddy sidekick” came storming up to us, demanding to see our receipt after we already paid and had the cart key in hand. It was completely uncalled for and just added to the feeling that we weren’t welcome.
The only bright spot was the girls at the pro shop — they were incredibly sweet, professional, and kind. Total contrast from the disaster waiting outside.
Honestly, if it weren’t for that one miserable man, we might’ve considered coming back. But he ruined the whole experience. We’ll be taking our time — and money — somewhere that actually respects its guests.
