Flanders Valley Golf Club - White/Blue Course
About
Flanders Valley Golf Course has received praise as not only one of the best public golf courses in New Jersey, but also as one of the best in the U.S. Flanders offers two 18-hole championship courses, White-to-Blue and Red-to-Gold. The courses are spread across over 400 acres of Morris County's idyllic countryside. The White-to-Blue Course has a more traditional layout that sprawls across mostly flat terrain. The golf course may lack elevation changes but there are an abundance of mature trees to contend with on either side of the course, making it very tight in some spots. One of the most memorable holes is the par-4 14th, nicknamed "Top and Right." This slight dogleg left hole has a pond bordering the entire left side of the fairway.

Flanders Valley is behind
Flanders valley course is always in good/great condition. However, the pace of play is pretty bad. Always waiting at some point during your round. Food isn’t great and overall you are overpaying for your round. I mean $25 per person for a golf cart is ridiculous (I walk so doesn’t affect me but just throwing that out there). I feel like they can improve in multiple areas compared to other courses in NJ that offer more for the same amount of money.
Great course
Always enjoy playing Flanders. Layout is Great and so is the value for money.
Love both courses (i.e. Red to Gold and White to Blu, with a preference for the Gold and the Blue nines).
Course condition overall were ok: good greens and Fairway, quite poor bunkers and tee box (especially on the Gold).
Great place to play
I love Flanders Valley and I would suggest it to any player. The layout of both courses is really beautiful , with preference for the gold and the blu nines. Pace of play in the early morning is pretty good. People I meet is usually quite nice, maintenance is ok, especially the greens, with room for improvement for the tee box and especially the bunkers.
Overall great value for money!
Not worth it
Course conditions were far from good. Fairways and greens were all chewed up. Paid $84 with cart and I’ve played much better kept public courses for less than $60. Will not be returning.
Love the course
Great round in less than 4 hours (in a 4 ball!).
Green and fairway in good conditions while the bunkers were quite bad. nevertheless I had a fun round with 3 nice locals
Always an enjoyable course
After reading some recent review I was thinking of not going. Fortunately I did play the course (Blue to white) and I definitely did enjoy it!
Ok, bunkers are in pretty bad condition and the tee boxe a are not great but apart from them, fairways were more than ok and greens maybe not so fast but well kept and fair.
Still a must play if you are in the area. I do come every summer and always enjoy a couple of rounds at Flanders!
Red/Gold.. Extremely bad condition. Tee Boxes and Sand Traps need a ton of work just to make playable
Avoid course . Sand Traps and Tee boxes are in really bad shape. A single that was paired with us snapped his shaft in the Sand Trap. No Joke. Was like cement and no sand and rocks everywhere. We advised him to move his ball out of sand trap . Should of listened. This course has a ton of walkers that are shooting over 100 slows down the pace a lot. Better options . Avoid.
Again another MORRIS COUNTY COURSE in HORRIBLE condition. AVOID!!!!!! Morris County and Kemper Sports are doing nothing to fix courses,,AVOID
Figured I would give Flanders Red/Gold a shot. Played Berkshire Valley golf course couple weeks and will be the last time I play it. Berkshire Valley is in the worst shape I have ever seen it . We used to play 45 rounds a year at Berkshire Valley a year six of us. We all are not playing Berkshire ever again until something is done. Morris County and Kemper Sports since they purchased the courses have let all the Morris County Courses turn into the worst condition they have ever been in , Avoid all courses. Flanders Red/Gold is in horrible condition. All the traps are unplayable with all rocks no sand , tee boxes have no grass not level unplayable the greens were decent on the Red Course Gold course greens horrible. Way overpriced and again unplayable condition. Avoid all Morris County Courses . Berkshire Valley, Flanders Red/Gold Blue/White and Sunset Valley. They do nothing to maintain the courses , even after numerous complaints from many golfers on unplayable sand traps and tee boxes and greens . There are many better options for less money. AVOID !!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME AT ANY MORRIS COUNTY COURSE..
Not bad , In great shape for Morris County Course Not worth $100 for non Morris County card holders
Nice little layout , If your and advanced golfer probably not the course for you. More for a 15 handicap and above. Greens were in great shape , Traps need help sand etc. Pace of play a little slow a lot of walkers which makes it a slow round. More of a beginner course to many walkers spraying it all over lol..If your going to walk you should be a 10 handicap or below. For a Morris County course ,looks like all Morris county residents use their county card for discount and walk to save the cart fee. Which is fine , But out of county people pay $98 for a round here not worth the price much better options. Morris County courses are really going south after Kemper sports purchased them. Berkshire Valley is a mess went to crap really fast and is on the do not play list. Sunset Valley is in great shape, But again if you don't have a Morris County card for discount the are all way overpriced . They are not putting money back into the Morris County courses ..
Unpleasant Experience for First-Time Guests
There was a serious shortage of golf carts, and we had to wait a long time before we could get one. During the wait, it was quite inconvenient as there was nowhere to leave our golf bags securely, which made things even more unpleasant.
Additionally, I noticed a clear difference in how guests were treated. The staff seemed friendly and attentive to the regulars who live nearby, but for first-time or occasional visitors like us, the service felt cold and unwelcoming.
Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone visiting for the first time.
Flanders Blue to White: A good walk appreciated
First time at Flanders and it did not disappoint. Track was challenging in some respects with a few forced dog legs and some very sloping greens, but overall, fair and enjoyable. Only downside were the bunkers were pretty thin on sand so we were all thinning shots put of it.
Conditions were great -- not pristine, with several GURs standing water areas and some scalloped fairways, but as public courses go, these were really good.
Pace of play was exactly 4 hours even though the group ahead of us perhaps could have been slightly more golf ready. We teed off at 5:50am on a Sunday so I imagine the pace slows down as more people saturate the course.
Nice course
Flanders is one of the nicer public courses in Northern NJ. There should be more drinking water breaks and port o jons on the course.
