About
Hillsborough Country Club is tucked away amongst the foothills of the Sourland Mountains. The golf course overlooks the beautiful Amwell Valley, sprawling across lush rolling hills gently sprinkled with mature trees. The par-70 layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels, it is even gentle enough for beginners. While it may not be what you're looking for if you want a long and challenging test, it's great for a casual round with a few tricky surprises. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but the golf course isn't overly punishing if you're slightly errant. Golfers will come across a fair amount of strategically placed sand traps as well as the occasional water hazard. In addition to the course, you can get even more short game practice in on Hillsborough Country Club's practice chipping and putting greens and there is also a driving range available.

Deserted (for a reason)
Below average course conditions (crabgrass on greens!)
If not particular, just want to play & can't find somewhere to get a tee time, this is the place (with plenty of parking).
Lower the sticker price
For $60 this is not a fair deal. Most greens were fine but the rest of course was ehhhh. TOugh greens and tight fairways and plenty of downhill lies. When you drop the price to $40 or lower then I may be back. Clubhouse bar restaurant is very nice. Scenery is beautiful on the mountain. Just lower the price...
The course is in bad condition. The rough looks like it hasn’t been mowed in a long time. The fairways are in bad shape. The tee boxes are not level. The clubhouse office and restaurant smell musty.
Never again
Front 9 was ok, back 9 terrible. "Bunkers" just dirt and weeds, scabby dead patches on fairways, too many blind tees. Half a dozen shabby deserted buildings, potholes on the drive, "cart" paths a mess of crumbled shoulders & frost heaves. "Clubhouse" needs major overhaul. The bathroom was beat up but it was clean.

Green were not cut in a while and many were in rough conditions with weeds and small divots. Tee boxes were the same---so not good.
Some rough spots
The bunkers are horrendous. Rock hard mud in most.
One shouldn’t play out of what used to be sand.
Cart paths are broken and bumpy.
The good news.. greens and fairways were in ok shape
