About

Neshanic Valley Golf Course is a 27-hole layout that sprawls across 420 acres of rolling farmland. It is the flagship course of the five-course Somerset County Park Commission system. The design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry crafted the layout, which is divided into three nines called the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow. The nines can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Lake/Ridge Course, as the name would imply, starts out with a few water holes. In addition to the lakes on the front nine, environmentally sensitive wetland areas come into play throughout. The fairways and greens are bordered by ample fescue and the putting surfaces are closely guarded by strategically placed bunkers. Neshanic Valley also offers a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course, which is great for beginners.

Love the course, starter not so much

Love the course, but the starter is a rude, crotchety old man who needs to go something else. I let him slide this time, if it happens again I will report him to management. First time this has happened there. Other than that, Neshanic is the best. Love to play there, all three courses are terrific. Keep up the good work..

Neshanic is great. Conditions - excellent.

Third time playing the course this year and for the first time, the starter was rude, nasty, and unpleasant. Totally uncalled for behavior.

Awesome Course!

We had a great time at Neshanic! The entire staff was very friendly. Great warm up facility to start. We played Meadow-Ridge which was a very fun and challenging round. The course itself is immaculately maintained and gorgeous. Can't wait to go back!

Course has some teeth !!

This was my second time being able to play Neshanic Valley and the course was even more awesome that I remembered.

From the plush fairways to the manicured tee boxes. And the greens are next level with the undulations and speed, they can easily turn birdie putt into a double bogie. Pace of play was fantastic and the cart have on board GPS.

I'm anxious to book my next round and invite my golf buddies to join me on this spectacular course.

Great course. Every golf condition was amazing. From tees to greens the course was looking perfect. The greens bumpy bc or plugs but assume they are pristine usually. The GPS carts only negative. The constant beeping noise and driving restrictions made little to no sense.

My Yearly Visit

I would like to play here more but I just didn't work out. My only visit this year was good, course looked good, but greens still bumpy after aeration about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

aside from being a difficult putting day, I always enjoy the course.

Neshanic is top notch, for sure one of the better public courses in NJ.

Greens were recently aerated and were spotty and bumpy. Pace of play was unusually bad , our 3 some was behind a painfully slow 4 some..

Despite really strong wind conditions, this course was in beautiful shape adjusting for the greens being aerated earlier in the week. Would definitely play there again, challenging course, plays long. Two thumbs up.
