Great Value well taken care of
I would play this course any day. It is fun and challenging enough to make it a good time. It gives you a chance to score but also has unique challenges and tree placements that force a tough decision..
Better and better
Course is in great shape, greens are perfect fairways very good. Rough is still tuff but it’s the ruff. They took out some trees and upgraded some bunkers. Course is on the right track
Need renovate green and bunkers
The starter staff were very friendly. However, although the greens were aerated, they needed more maintenance, and the bunkers were very poorly maintained. Also, it seems like the trees on some holes need to be trimmed.
Would play again
Course in great shape, some green are bumpy and slow, season just started so, no surprise, but there a lots of teenagers playing during twilight hours without proper golf etiquette.. shouting, screaming and hit the ball every direction. Next time, try to play early tee time.
Hopewell Valley Golf Club
Great course with a well-designed layout that offers a fun but challenging round for players of all skill levels. The course was in good condition, and you can tell it’s well maintained. The staff really stood out—very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the entire visit. On top of that, it’s an excellent value for the quality of the experience. Definitely a course worth playing again.
Opening day
Excellent conditions for early march. Course was surprisingly dry and playable. Greens were slow and bouncy but that’s to be expected. Walked 18 in 4 hours
41 degrees but no wind and soft greens
Course was in shockingly good condition. Please note the tee boxes are all temporary so that is 1 drawback. That said all and all it was a blast to play this once private but now public course
Beautiful Course
Loved the track. It was in great shape especially for being this late in the year. A level of difficulty to it with narrow and sloped greens, tough pin placements, and turning fairways.
Over priced and not impressed
Course was in decent shape but not worth the money especially when the starter did not make people keep moving. People in front of us were hitting a few balls each. It was not wet but the lazy greens keeper made it cart path only. So, last time for me at this county course
Looks great, but tee boxes need work
The course is in great shape the greens ,the fairways ,everything looked fabulous!! The only thing that I feel that this place needs to work on is the tee boxes. Some are just straight sand. Otherwise nice work.!
Great Bones
The greens are in terrific shape & the fairways are nice as well. A number of tees are a little barren but you can see the effort and money that Mercer county has been putting into the course.
Good price - but you get what you pay for...
I played here a few times last year - but this was the first time this year. It is in very poor condition, tee boxes as baked out - rough is ... just matted down - crabgrass abundant. The only thick lush areas were where you generally are not playing from. Fairways - pretty rough, poorly maintained and in many placed damaged by improper cutting and operations (tire marks).
Normally this would be how a course looks when you have a very bad summer weather for grass - but none of the other courses around are near this bad.
Greens were OK - but too many disrespectful golfers - to just tear them up. (Also a low price issue?)
This is a very walkable course - but no water on the course anywhere. The refreshment cart was just parked by the 8th green, just snacks. The food shack at the turn - both bathrooms closed, the shack seemed open, the hot-dog roller was running with no dogs, window open, lights on, no one in site. (?)
I would prefer to pay $15 more ( ~$60) and have better conditions.
I'll be back
Good pace of play, albeit it was on a midday Thursday. Open fairways with just a few trees makes it hard to lose your drive. The greens were super fast and always at an angle so 3 putts are quite possible. Some buildings are worn down. The rest room is embarrassing. Anything to do with the people though was excellent, from the pro shop, starter, restaurant and 'beer cart' were all friendly and on the ball. I'll be back.
Nice Course.
Hopewell Valley has a variety of holes. Not many have the same look. Course was in very good shape. Played here a half dozen times in the past 4 years.
