Worst golf course in New Jersey
I wish I could give Springfield Golf Center zero stars. This place is an absolute circus and a complete rip-off.
First off, the course conditions were disgraceful and the pace of play was painfully slow. But the real issue is how completely unorganized and greedy the management/staff are.
One person in our group had to cancel last minute. Instead of handling it like a normal golf course, they scammed us and charged us an extra tee time and forced us to pay a cart fee for the person who wasn't even there! Their excuse? "No walkers allowed."
Fast forward to the actual round, and the starter lets a foursome out directly ahead of us who only had TWO bags between all four of them! To make matters even worse, after claiming "no walkers are allowed," they proceeded to let group after group of walkers jump ahead and start on the back 9, completely bottlenecking the entire course and holding everyone up for hours.
Hypocritical rules, shameless hidden fees, brutal conditions, and non-existent course management. I will never spend another dime here. Do yourself a favor and play literally anywhere else.
Greens Rolling Nice
This course is a long time favorite of beginner and intermediate golfers of all ages. The layout is pretty straightforward, with a few over-water carries. A lot of the tree trouble and extra long rough has been reduced, which has sped up pace-of-play. Now if people would adhere to lost-ball search time rules and etiquette in general, it would actually be faster. Our pace was 4 hrs 40 mins on a perfect midday Sunday round. Only issue we encountered was someone bombing 300+ yard rounds from the range over the net on hole 15, which directly in the line of fire.
Could be better
The rough is very long and hard to find balls. The carts could use updating

Upon arriving we were told the back 9 was closed , we asked for refund and was told no . So we played , they were over booked with only 9 holes to play twice . The greens were in horrible shape as well as the fairways .
Acceptable
Good for the money, greens are in better shape than anticipated. Lucky to find grass on the tee but otherwise it’s an average course with a price I’d say is equivalent to the course overall. Pace of play on the front 9 is always slow but usually gets somewhat back on track on the back 9. Will be coming back
Quick Round
Booked a Hot Deal for less than $30 for myself and daughter. Arrived to the course early we were the only ones there. After waiting in the proshop for a few minutes we were allowed to tee off early. Played in 2.5 hours course was empty. Lots of water (drainage issues). Greens were in great shape. Great place to get out for a quick /inexpensive round.
