Dangerous Course Layout and unmaintained
Our cart was hit by a ball that went through the tattered range nets while we were teeing off. The rest of the course you also need to be constantly be watching the other people hit because the layout is dangerously tight. In some spots you are literally hitting over other tee boxes to hit your fairways.
A Scratch The Itch of Golf Course
If you want to feel good about your golf game, play here!
It’s not a challenging course, and one you won’t lose a lot of balls on, but there is much to be desired. To note, the tee boxes are covered in broken tees with most just packed dirt. Fine.
To grab a beer after 9, you have to buy a $3 membership 72 hours in advance.
For the money, it’s a good place to play to scratch the itch of golf.
Average at best
Booked this golf now, hot deal and was excited, even though it was an hour away from where I live. The fairways are nearly nonexistent because the grass is not loaded regularly and there’s crabgrass everywhere. Most of the greens are spongy and have ball marks everywhere. So putting is difficult. The people are cool, but it reads like a low and Municipal course.
Nice course for learning and developing golfers
Nice layout and course. Friendly staff and well operated course. Fairways in good condition.
Ok course
Decent face, some greens and fairways starting to show distress due to extreme rain and heat.
Other than
The tea boxes being tore up the greens being tore up fairways being awful in spots And having to be a member to purchase alcohol there with a three day wait… As well as no alcohol cart on the course… I mean other than that it is a golf course
You Need To Understand This
If you book a round at Springfield, you have to understand:
This isn't some high end course, with manicured greens, discernable fairways, or memorable holes. This is a place where you can relax and play golf. It's for the high schoolers who want to learn the game without being yelled at by overzealous golf snobs. It's for the guy that plays once per year, and doesn't care about the score. It's a place where a grandparent can take their grandchild without worrying about pace, skill, attire, etc.
When playing Springfield, you will come across all types of humans; grown men in Canadian tuxedos, guys with iron covers who got very into golf to escape their tumultuous marriage, ladies who hit the ball 75 yards, but boy do they hit it straight.
Do I play Springfield? Not really, sometimes if I'm looking for something to do or others' golf swings to tweak. But for.the price, it's doable. In a way, it's fun going to a course and not worrying about how you stack up against everyone there. You're there to have fun. Plus, there's a guy carding a 143 on the course with you, guaranteed.
If you want a cheap round to get away from your monotonous lifestyle, hit up Springfield. It won't kill you
