It was a great day except for the cart malfunctioned a lot
Good course for the money
The course is always in good shape. Friendly staff.
The pace of play was a little slow, especially on the back 9.
4:35 round.
Love course layout, unfortunately due to the lack of water fairways and ruff was hard as a rock. Would love to play the course again when it's in better condition.
Loved this course
First time playing this course and I was blown away. After a horrible summer for golf course conditions, it was basically immaculate.
Always a fun course
Great course, friendly starter, excellent off course amenities, who could ask for more!
Great course and staff
Of the three public courses in the area, this is the best in terms of layout, staff, and reasonably priced amenities! The staff members are always cheerful, accommodating, and able to keep things moving. The layout is very challenging, with many elevation changes, water hazards, and several blind spots.
Always in great shape!
Hanover never disappoints. At a time of year when other Jersey courses are burnt out, brown, and dry, Hanover’s fairways and rough remain mostly plush and green. There are some patchy spots here and there, but what place doesn’t have that? Greens are terrific and roll true. Hey People! REPAIR YOUR BALL MARKS! Can’t beat the price for a bucket of beers at the turn either. Overall a great golf value!
Great course - some burnt fairways
This course is a favorite- nothing dance - good golf and pace - excellent value. Greens are true and good - like many just couldn’t keep up with the intense heat this year.
Like many courses right now they need rain to help the grass
Better than last time
Play this course of a couple years ago it was ok but decided to give it a try reading some reviews on Golf Now .was extremely happy with your course was in very good shape for all the hot weather and dry spell we’ve had the last six weeks. This course can be for everybody to play make sure you pick the right tee box the staff is very friendly I recommend
Nice variety
1st time playing . Good experience from check in to Tee . Friendly staff and starter who got us out immediately. Condition was good considering we’re in an extreme dry spell . So yes the fairways were a bit brown. 1st cut off fairways were fine. Not to high . Greens were in good condition . Except one which had many crab grass spots. . Last hole par 5 a beast for the intermediate golfer . Need two great shots to clear the water . We liked it makes you think layup or go for it. No food or drink cart that we saw so bring your own hydration.
Aside from that a fun round
Deteriorating
The front 9 was fine, fairways and greens in good shape.
It was a different golf course condition wise on the back.A lot of burned out patches on many fairways.
The first cut should be trimmed, if you are not in the fairway there’s little forgiveness.
Played in a 2 some. On 13 we caught 4 walkers. They explained they had to walk because they wouldn’t allow them to take a cart. The kids were 16.
2 very different 9’s
Always enjoy Hanover GC. Played several times. 2 very different front and Back 9s. Front is pretty flat back and forth type of layout , back lot of elevation changes and hills to negotiate. Greens always in good shape when I’ve played there, on the fast side but not rediculous. If I had to find one negative , I would say fairways could be cut a little lower and for the love of god…. Give players a secondary fairway cut. At least 3 times this round I missed a fairway by 6” or less (fairways feel a bit on the narrow side) and found myself in 4” to 6” of rough. Just chalk it up to part of the challenge I guess but it does get a bit frustrating. All in all though people very friendly and pleasant who run the place and for the price ,you won’t get any better in the area.
