$10.20 Cart Fee Charge by Golf Now?

What's up with Golf now adding a $10.20 cart fee?

If I booked directly with the golf course they do not charge a cart fee.

Golf Now? What a rip off !

poor organization

tee times were double booked, cart shortage led to delayed start.

the quarry course fairway was very bumpy, kept jumping off my seat and hit my head in the cart ceiling numerous times.

Overall the course was in great condition. However, pace of play was unbelievably slow, and didn't see a ranger once while we were on the course. Waited about 5 minutes before almost every shot, and played a 5+ hour round. When we got to the 10th hole, there were 5 groups on the hole. Pace of play needs to be better here, please stop cramming tee times so close together.

Hello and thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.

$90 for 5+ hr round

For a 5 hour round, I'd rather pay $50 on a public course. Not sure if this was GG's fault or Golfnow's, but they should give us a partial refund. Also, fix the chewed up tee boxes. Not worth $90.

A sad trip down memory lane

I had played this course as a kid with my father about 25 years ago. It was a real treat back then. A great layout for all 3 of the 9’s with a great mix of challenging and getable holes. Conditions used to be awesome..

Fast forward to Father’s Day 2022 and our group wasn’t able to complete our round because of a completely unattended to pace of play. We played 11 holes in 3.5 hours. The entire time we never saw a single ranger.

Condition wise, the greens were actually great. Firm and fast. Tee boxes are generally not level, riddled with divots, and not well mowed. Rough is what you would expect at a mid or low level municipal course. Cart paths rival a back breaking off-road adventure.

Sadly, the experience was so disappointing that I’ll be certain to not go back. It confirmed that paying the premium for a course like Wild Turkey really is worth the extra money.

I had really hoped for an enjoyable trip down memory lane and left with nothing short of total disappointment.

Great courses (Rail/Quarry)

Great condition, nice carts, friendly starter and restaurant staff. Nice balcony at Hef’s Hut with a good view of the valley. Not a fan of one of the Par 3s on Rail. The green is on a crazy angle. Makes for impossible putting (for me). Other than that, exceptional, fun and fast playing.

DO NOT HAVE OUTINGS HERE!!!!!!!!

General manager at this place is way over his head. He never returns phone calls or emails. Once I got him on the phone we spoke about having an outing and I gave him the date which he never wrote down so the end result was he booked another outing on that date which totally screwed me up. I asked if I could speak with his superior and I was told no there is nobody that you can talk to. This GM needs to be held accountable for his screwup's. Very nice golf course but don't have an outing there unless you want to get disappointed

Do not book outings !!!

The GM does not get back to you. Seems like he's over his head with his job. After agreeing on a date he then booked another outing the same day. After sending numerous emails and phone calls that where not returned I requested to speak to his direct boss and they would not give me a contact phone or email. Great corse but the GM is way over his head.

Great public option

Overall, Great Gorge is a great public option with great views of the nearby mountains. No matter which nine you play, it will be a tough test. The greens can get firm and fast, but they roll pretty true. Players can do a better job fixing ball marks. There are a few low areas that get soggy, particularly in the middle of the Lake nine, and on 8 at the Quarry. Other than that, course conditions are decent. A little tough to justify the price point at north of $90, but understandable given the more expensive options at the nearby Crystal Springs courses. At $70-75, Great Gorge would be incredible value, and I heard weekday rates can get below that, so that's something to consider.

Gorge

We played Rail to Quarry front and back nines. The fairways are like carpet. They play fantastic. The Redan shaped greens are firm and fast and vicious if u misplay a shot. The course layout has been a favorite for years. The rock formations and the way the course architect forces shots using those rocks is fun, challenging and rewarding when accomplished. Great weather and the place was quiet. We played in 3 hours at 1:10pm and the rate was more than half that of comparable courses in Sussex.
