Challenging short course. back nine holes are somewhat tight and requires you to be alert for wayward balls. Greens are very good and require your attention. Fairways well kept. ruff moderate length.

The best public course and a very reasonable price

The course is okay but they need more staff. There was only one guy running the course. Also, be aware that the net they have for warm up is full of holes. You will lose a few balls before even start playing.

Nice layout but the pace is horrible during the weekend. No rangers can be found to promote a faster pace. New golfers need to be explained basic rules. Nobody should take 6 to 10 swings in a par 3. Taking 3 tee shots is not fine. People need to be taught.

Just moved to South Orange and was looking for a course near by. Lots of country clubs but finally found this one. Was skeptical because Newark doesn’t always have the best reputation. Not only is this golf course fantastic, but the public park it’s near looks beautiful as well. My only complaint...the course is very challenging, but at the same time very fun. Lots of steep hills, sand traps, and dog legs but everything is extremely well maintained. Sure it’s not 1000/1000 perfect, but for a public course less than 20 minutes away, I cannot complain.

First time here (9 hcp), much more of a challenge than I was expecting. I thought it would be mostly flat but thats not the case. Fun course, play the blue tees. Greens weren't as slow as described, nice pace. I didn't use them but there is a nice sized practice green and a large net to hit some balls into. Some boxes were pretty chewed up, a few spots on the fringe at some holes as well. But all in all it's a great muni course, wish the price was a bit lower but maybe it will drop for the fall. Shot +7, 77.

A beautiful historic gem.A must play. I guarantee after your first round you’ll want to come back. Beautiful rolling hills and scenic layout. Don’t let the total yardage fool you. This course requires shot making and golf intelligence to score. The staff is incredibly professional and friendly. Course conditions were quite good. A hilly healthy walk. Lot’s of strategy with tight fairways mature trees and well placed bunkers and doglegs. Plenty of blind shots. A true joy to play. Greens could be faster but thankfully they weren’t. That would make this even tougher as greens are small and challenging undulations. I need another crack at this. Can’t wait to play it again.

Greens were not cut or rolled very slow! No food, water! Bathroom are not clean& no sanitizer

Course is in good shape although not optimal. It was in much Bétera shape at the beginning of the season. Must be new grounds people. But overall this a great course.

The starter is amongst the least people friendly I have ever seen in a golf course. To start, please lose the cigar and welcome your customers.
