Decent Course Lousy Neighborhood
Course is okay, but staff has a bit of a chip on their shoulders. The course layout is okay, but the neighborhood getting there is a bit scary.
Brural
Bring a football helmet to play this course. Balls fly all over the place. Hot hit twice. It took 3 hrs to play 9 holes. 4-Foursomes on one hole at one point. Never again!
Still good to play
The course as of 1st week of December is still in good condition to play. Except for people not fixing their ball marks and devots! If we all contribute and fix just our own marks at least on the green, this course can be an excellent course to play!!
It can be better
If they would care a little bit more....
On top of that there is only one person doing everything, the results are that you just get as frustrated as he does
Besides the frost delay of an hour, the course was in great shape. Pace of play was good as well.
Great Course
The greens are very well maintained. The grounds grew does a good job of removing the fallen leaves from the fairways, so it was very easy to find my shots, even when hit into the rough. Had one group ahead of us that was moving slow but all other groups maintained a reasonable pace of play. Will continue to go to this course in the future.
Great surprise
Nice layout in good condition
Tucked in the New Jersey rolling hills
The nicest thing in Newark for sure
Nice little course!
Saw a ton of reviews talking about this course as a "hidden gem" so I decided to check it out. Found myself thinking "this really is a hidden gem!" for most of the round! Not a long track and a bit tight in terms of hole proximities. Felt like the layout favored a fade (for a right handed golfer) on most holes, which works for my game. Surprising amount of elevation on some holes and greens were in good shape. Check it out!
This course is a lot of fun!
I walked this course and had lots of fun. Paired up with 2 other guys who really made my day. They very nice & friendly — Michael, seemed to be the mayor of the course and Vic.
The course plays fairly in my opinion with some challenging holes.
With this being the oldest course in New Jersey, I found that to be pretty cool. The only issue was that there were lots of balls flying everywhere as is often the case of a links style course.
I would definitely come back.
