Worth the Money for $20
Very short course with only 2 sets of tees- ladys and mens
Course is very short, nets on the first few holes which seem oddly placed
The front 9 isnt in great condition and holes are on top of each other, but the back 9 is more spread out and in better shape (my buddy said because of proximity to the road)
Overall a short course that played quick on a Friday afternoon. Not in great condition but good enough for $20
Great day at course
Nice course to play Good pace, 4-some let us play thru. Staff friendly
Not worth 54 bucks
Not worth the money very tight course very small greens fairways were hard as a rock and your ball rolls forever only way to get your ball to stick on the green was if you hit a 62degree wedge and sky it tee boxes were uneven and poorly maintained
Nice course.
Got rained on.Played only 9 holes. Starter was terrific. Helped get us going quickly. People in pro shop not so much.
Good Value
You get what you pay for, and I don't mean that in a negative way. This place is cheap an kept in fair condition. In fact, I think it is one of the least expensive courses in the area.
Since that is the case, you get a lot of beginners out here so the pace of play is slow. **I do have a problem with the fact that there is NEVER a ranger around to speed up play and keep everyone on track. This last round I played behind a 6-some (yup, 6) for holes 3-9. That was rough.
Great value but you will have a slow round
The staff was very friendly when we arrived and we were in a cart and on our way quickly. The course was in good condition, but the players out that day were very slow. Would recommend going in the middle of the week and late morning.
Great Track Great Value
When I was younger the slightly short length of Knoll East kept me looking at Crystal Springs Resort courses and others in NJ...for the longer tees. As I get closer to 60 yrs old, now the yardage here is well within a challenging range. It plays quite longer on a few uphill holes. The course has a very nice mix of doglegs, excellent greens! (as of 6.18.14), variety of elevation changes and slopes. It's a little more open than others courses I often play, which helps keep the game on course on windy days. I've already booked another round for this week and had such a great time I plan to return often! No driving range so plan a warm up elsewhere, Practice putting green and a practice net near clubhouse to swing a few before your round. I believe it is also a daily fee course so extra holes are possible. Just pay cart fee again if riding. Adult beverages and food available.
Not bad
A couple friends and I went out early afternoon and found the course to be very quiet. Got right on without any trouble at all and never saw a group behind us. Narrow course with many parallel holes, so be prepared to lose a few balls or be playing in the next fairway if you have trouble keeping the ball straight. On many of the holes you can decide to not hit the driver as this is a shorter course. Fairways were average condition but the greens had many dents from players not repairing their ball mark. I would play here again.
Solid Golf Course
Course was a little wet, but this is due to the large amount of rain received the past week.
Short course.
Greens were in great condition.
Front 9 has many holes that are adjacent to another, and errant golf balls are common.
Pace of play is typical for a public county course. It was slow with a backup on multiple holes on the front 9. Pace increased dramatically on back 9 as people only played 9 holes.
Fun round but slow play
The course was in a lot better condition than it was last year. The fairways were slim, as usual. If you do not hit the ball straight be prepared to lose a lot of balls. The only problem I had was the pace of play. There were so many people walking that it back the whole course up for those of us that were on carts. Still, a fun experience, and I would recommend the course.
Taking advantage of a sunny day!
The course was still wet from all the rain we have been having, that being said you have to make the best of the few sunny days we seem to get here in NJ.
Decent Course for the money
Played this course before and it was in better condition. To be fair, considering how early in the year and how brutal the winter, the course was better than expected. Many spots were still suffering from the recent heavy downpours and were waterlogged, especially the sand traps. Carts were only allowed on the cart paths but numerous spots had none or just dead ended. Halfway thru, I wished I had just walked because it was far more difficult walking back and forth to the cart which seemed to always be on the wrong side.
Our favorite home course
The staff was outstanding, the course provided several challenges and a lot of fun moments for my wife and I.
can be tricki time to time
the greens were perfect, to bad for the fairways we had rain 2 day in a row so they were not cut, the course was a bit wet but great condition....i will recomend it to anyone who wants to play it
this course is good for the intermediate players
it was set up for a person that draws the ball.there was a lot of elevation change, sand bunkers and lots of Hazzard play
Nice course, no martial, slow play
The course was very nice. Play was very slow due to the two groups ahead taking 8-15 shots to reach greens. No martials.
Unfriendly atmosphere.
Well maintain course
Had a 10 o'clock tee time, they got us out 1/2 hr
Early had a great time we'll be back
heads up!
The day started out in a former run down cc that is now a gc. our cart was leaking gas, the starter was drunk and the proshop was rude and very run down! the snack bar is a outside overpriced grill..( i was sick after eatting there). the course is a rough layout and often had balls hit into us. This by far is the worst course i ever played in my life!!!!!
Will never play here again
This course is super tight with every whole on top of each other. It was super packed and you pretty much have to wear a helmet so you don't get hit by a ball from another hole. The tee boxes weren't any good and the greens were just ok. The worker behind the desk couldn't look up my tee time nor did he even try. He looked cluleless back there and told me to check with the starter. Won't recommend this course to my worst enemy.
