Horrifying conditions
If you like to drink and eat just skip golf and go inside to the bar or patio. After all, that’s where all the money was invested at this course. They didn’t give you a heads up that there were temporary greens. It was like putting on the moon with all of the craters. Driving on the cart path was similar to off roading in a Jeep Wrangler. All the garbage and empty liquor bottles over flowing out of the garbage cans and in the bushes reminded me of actual East Orange. If they allowed you to play here for free it’s not worth it. Like I said, just go straight to the bar and get a beer and nachos.

Horrible Grounds
This course was single handily the worst course I’ve played on in the area. The greens were like putting on the moon. That’s if you got to actually play on the greens since 1/2 the holes were temporary greens (aka we were putting on fairway). The cart paths are like going off roading…. They should give you Jeep Wranglers to drive around in. I was so embarrassed in front of my friends that I booked this course. Luckily, if you like to eat and drink, it seems they spent all of their budget on the outdoor patio and bar area. That is the only good part of my experience.

Needs Work !
Course has fallen into bad shape. All greens are either closed or in very poor condition. Hopefully by next spring things will get better. I would avoid until next year.

What Happened to the Greens?
Was here in July and the Greens were in great condition, now they are frankly unplayable. What happened? East Orange GC did the right thing and knocked $25 off the green fees, kudos for that.

Terrible - Shameful
This course has gone down the toilet. They should fire the whole course management. Classic example of how incompetent people can run down a perfectly good thing to ground. The municipality should sell this course to Trump and he could convert it into a coveted country club given the location.

Used to be so good
The greens are legit sand. This place used to be so so good. Now it’s the Sahara. Might as well go to point pleasant and 3 putt on the Jenks beach with a rum bucket.

Closed Greens
There were 9 temporary greens that I wish I knew before I played

STAY AWAY
I have never seen a course in worse condition in my life. Half of the greens are so bad they have spray painted a circle in the fairway and stuck the pin there to avoid playing on the greens. The other half of the greens that are actually being used are still unplayable. I will never be playing here again and I suggest you do the same.

Unkept
The course is unkept . All greens are falling apart.

Needs Help
This is a municipal course that needs work. I wish this review could be better.
Provided a good location for my son to come from NYC and me up from central Jersey.
Started with credit card machine down and had to drive to find an ATM. Lost most of my warm up time.
Nice to have good range and practice greens.
But many, not all, bunkers were mostly dirt with small stones. Couldn’t hit out of them.
Was told half of greens were temporary for aeration, and that’s ok, understand need for it. But most were much worse, half bald patches and low mown crabgrass.
Layout is good, mostly flat and wide fairways.
Fairly short at 5k+ yards but was good to find a place to play on a Saturday morning.
Like many muni courses needs help that may be hard to get.

Crab grass. Weeds. 7 temp greens. The other greens were mostly dirt and weeds, very little grass
