East Orange Golf Course

The course was in good shape but every tee box was the same length as the rough. Not sure why that was but it made for an interesting start to each hole.

I worked an early shift that day and on the way home I searched for a tee time. Lucky me! I found a perfect time for that day. I booked my time for a single player 9 holes, and once I arrived at the clubhouse they paired me with a group of great players. Me and the boys! Out there playing our best game ever! Definitely a great day with the bros! Beautiful course and great staff.

It's a good set up and staff are great.

But

Greens are very slow and inconsistent. Bunkers were also rock hard but then it had been raining - and they should be avoided!

Speed up the greens and it would be at least 4 stars

Course is what it is for the money, but the most frustrating thing is that the starter puts people out on top of each other, and the pace of play is turtle speed. Tee times are 10 minutes apart on Golf Now, However, the starter sends the other group out 5 minutes later! Someone teach this man how to actually meter groups out accordingly! The ONLY reason I got there is that it’s literally 15 minutes from home! Other than that, it’s a chewed up dog track. Buy your ticket and take your chances with this place!

Relatively inexpensive for 18 holes in northern NJ. Get what you pay for. No complaints but nothing inspiring. I saw a lot of reviews about the greens - wouldn't say they were the worst but they are small and hard/fast.

Driving was nice, with plenty of stalls, staff was friendly and helpful, this was my first time playing the course. Waiting time before teeing was a little unusual… the starter drive around yelling out a tee time, then tells you to line up. Yes there is a line of golfers just outside of the first tee box. When it’s time to go, the starter then yells at you again. DON’T tee off nail I tell you too… so kind of like a race to pre start you and then an actual start, a little unusual.

The course and pace of play was slow, waiting in the group in front of you, sometimes two groups on the next tee waiting made for very long day.

The fairways were in fair shape, greens and bunkers could use a little work. Poor drainage in some areas made it wet, sloppy and muddy.

Would I return for another day of play, probably not…but that’s just me.

First time playing, great course. Easy to walk and some challenging holes but overall pretty easy and comfortable pace. Would absolutely play here again
