Preakness Valley Golf Course - West

Course was in excellent shape, greens are soft but in good shape. Tees are nicely groomed. Walked right up and played, no waiting. Not crowded and played in under 4 hours.

They should post that 3 holes were closed before asking for full price.

The course has at least five challenging holes. Nice shape with some brown spots which is not unusual for this time of year. I thought $75 on Golf Now on a Sunday was over priced for this course.

Had a 7:20am tee time. Showed up at 7:10am and asked the starter how things were going. He said the 7:10 group wasn’t there yet. I pointed out that all the 7:20 group was there and ready to tee off. He said he wasn’t doing anything until he heard from his boss. Heard him on the walk-in-talkie where his boss told him to let our group off. Then a group showed up who said they 7:30 so the starter said, “well, 7:30 is now 7:20 so tee off”. We ended up Teri g off at 7:35am. This was handled poorly and with of anger by the starter. Ruined the start of otherwise a fine day of golf

Even though this course is short, it provides a wide array of holes that you must navigate and think through. A lot of cool dog legs, and long par 3s, some cool risk reward holes where you can take it over trees, the greens are well maintained. It's a great walking course. I wish the rangers would push the pace a little bit tough.

It was hot but had a great time anyway. The west course is in great shape. Loved my round
