Solid in every way
I've played both mercer oaks courses but decided to try Mt. View as a change. Really well maintained decent green speeds for a muni (I know some ppl want them faster but they rolled true and were well maintained) and a friendly staff. The front nine is great, highlights being number 3 with its blind tee shot and number 5 which is a drivable par 4 for some. The back 9 is a little "up and back" but there are a few holes, namely 13 a long par 3, and 14 a dog leg par 5 that have some character. Overall I really enjoyed my round and would gladly go back. Oh I forgot to mention this is a great course for the bomber, hit it deep and find it totally pays off on this layout.
wide open
the fairways were very wide and trees do not come into play very often. the course opens up with back to back par 5's which is a little weird but was a refreshing change(gets you warmed up quick). greens were small and fairly smooth and average speed for most public courses. bunkers were maintained good and were a little bit deeper than average). lots of undulation to most fairways. I enjoyed my round
Don't bother
Slow play, rangers just drive by and do nothing. Sunday morning walking foursome being let out ahead of twosomes in carts. Greens are just as long as the fairways. Not recommended.
Great Golf Course
We had a great experience here and thanks to Golf now for helping save a few dollars..Thanks to all !
Solid Course
Nicely kept course right off of RT95. Wide open and good place to hit the driver. Good for long hitters. Tee boxes were level and greens were pretty true.
Will def play again.
Good, but not memorable
For the price, it's about as good as you're going to get. However, the back nine holes seemed to get a little monotonous, and there really weren't many memorable holes.
That said, it was pretty well maintained and the pace of play was nice. Would definitely recommend!
Friendly vibe, but not very exciting layout
This course is well maintained and managed, but I found the layout a little boring -- everything pretty straight. There were some interesting elevations on the front 9. Greens played a little slow, couldn't get a read on them. Not sure I'd go back.
Great course, thick rough
Courses in great shape. Easy to lose balls just off the fairway.
Potential
Was much nicer than thought. Course has character. Tee boxes were in good condition but some are uneven, not a big deal. Fairways very good condition, rough was deep in parts which made finding ball difficult but made more challenging. Greens very good but small again made course more challenging. Course reminded me of a poor mans hominey hill. I will play again!
Outstandidng for a municipal course
I am a county cardholder and this is one of 4 courses that we can play for a very reasonable resident rate. I live close to this one and it is my favorite. The greens are on the small side and the rough can get pretty thick so I find it to be a good challenge for my skill level. It opens with two par 5s and a par 4 with a second shot over water that gives me nightmares. Nice contours and a few hills but easily walkable which I do most of the time. My only complaint is that the tee boxes are often a little rough and it isn't always easy to find a good level spot. The greens are average speed for a public course but that helps to keep the pace of play reasonable. I am able to complete most rounds in a little over 4 hours. The back patio is great place for a post-rounD beer.
View the Mountain
Loved the course. My only complaint is that I paid more on GolfNow than the everyday senior rate. Plan to go back and play it again.
good count course
Well maintained. Decent pace. Good facilities. A good deal for county cardholders or if through golfnow.
Nice Day
Thought the greens and fairways were well manicured and in good shape. Bunkers were also clean and well kept. I thought it was a little pricey, but not bad with the Golfnow discount. Lots of ball cleaners and cold water in the coolers.
good value
Ours was the first group out after the course emptied following a "shot gun" start preceeded us. We finished our round in 3.5 hours. Joined two other local golfers who agreed to play "ready golf". We had a great round and the course was in very good condition.
Great lay of the land
was in good shape for early in season. Nice layout some up and down hill, a few blind shots, and some fairways that slant quite a bit so important to know where to hit the ball.Would definately play again now that I understand the course a little better.
Challenging township course in really good shape
Kudo's to the grounds crew. This was my fifth course this Spring and it was by far in the best shape tee- fairway- green. The pace was great for a Sunday 7 am tee time with know one in front of our foursome the entire round. It was Mother's Day so that may have been a factor. As I recall form my last time here the course is fairly straight and plays long. It starts out tough with 2 par 5's and then a hard 4 that is the #1 handicap. Things then even out but prepare for 13 and 14 as the back nine challenges. Only complaints were no beverage cart and some of the hole postings were very different than the gps reading (7 played about 30 yards longer). Greens are small but that is probably due to the age of the course. Great food and patio at clubhouse.
Course in great shape
Course was in very impressive shape for this early in the season, greens especially. Fairways had a couple of soggy patches from the wet spring but other than that . . . no complaints at all. Interesting enough layout, course definitely plays long.
Not sure why its called Mountainview though; there aren't any views, certainly none of mountains. No matter, I'll be back soon!
Windy but good for spring
Course was in better shape then expected already the fairways had been airrated would recommend because it's fairly challenging and will be returning this season
Nice conditions
This course was in great condition, from fairways to greens. Well done nice course will definitely play again
