Playing here since 1968
I’ve played here well over 1000 times since 1968 and conditions have always been very good. Not this time!!! This was absolutely horrendous condition wise. Even though the greens were airrated in the last couple of weeks, the greens were all hard like bricks, bumpy as heck and super fast especially anything downhill. It seems as there must be a draught because the whole course is in dire need of water. Charging as much as they do especially on weekends under these conditions is ridiculous. I was throughly disappointed. Maybe in a couple of months conditions will improve.

Pace of play was unbearable. There is no driving range. Most tee boxes were in pretty bad shape. Greens were in good shape and definetly the most challenging part of the course.
In my opinion, a little pricey to be playing that slow with a complete lack of amenities.

Course is in rough shape
Played 9 and paid $35 a piece for a late Friday afternoon start.
The course, particularly the tee boxes is in bad shape. Hardly any actual grass, lots of weeds throughout the fairway.
Staff was great and the course was friendly, but not sure I'll be back.

Back to the old ways
First I will start with how the course no longer will let a single book a round. When I inquired at the pro-shop, was lied to about singles booking multiple rounds due to not knowing if reservation went through, which is a lie, you get a confirmation withing 30 seconds. I was informed to call the pro-shop, they would "fit me in", which means they will allow me to golf when they want, kind of sounds like the old ownership. Not sure why a singles green's fee is less important, I mean it's called customer service. When the new owners purchased the course, they improved the customer service, at first, now it's back to dictating to the consumer, not a great way to run a business.
As far as the bar/restaurant, cold food, orders incorrect, out of half the items on the menu. The wife will golf 9 with dinner and call that date night, pretty awesome, well thanks for ruining our date night.

Fun course
Shot makers course. If you like to bomb and gauge then Westwood ain’t the spot for you. Lots of tee shots where you could use many different clubs and have to choose aggressive or conservative approaches. Greens are crazy fast and 3 putts are out there. Awesome playing this course.

They let a 6 man group in front of us…
slow play all day with a 6 man group in front of us. Didn’t think that would be allowed.

Only 9 open
I can see they are working to improve the course but are trying to do too much at one time - maybe they should concentrate on one part of the upgrade and finish it first
Very Fast Greens
Pin positions and speed of greens make this course somewhat unreasonable to play, example, greens on 10 and 17 are so sloped to the left that any shot hit right of the flag will not hold and roll off left, suggestion would be to not cut so short, course has been improving for the last 2 seasons, but the pace and pin positions need to be addressed, there is no PGA event coming here.

Needs a lot of work
Most of the tee boxes were in very bad condition particularly at the start of a season. The seventh hole fairway is STILL in bad shape. The cart paths need to be re-tarred. They have cleaned out numerous tree and bushes opening up some of the holes..
I still find it very annoying that carts are not allowed in the parking lot and the bags need to be dragged to and back from the cart area. I don’t think the regular patron should be punished for the poor behavior/ drinking of a few.
I only went there to play because of a GolfNow promo and it ended up only cost me $12 to play.
