Long hard well maintained course.
Very nice and challenging course. There are a lot of tee options, so golfers of all distances can play this course.
Challenging layout
Generally wide but tree-lined fairways and well-bunkered, undulating greens. Well-maintained, attractive course.
Just sort of blah
The course was well maintained but I would not put it in the category of a premier course. One thing that grinds my gears is the tee boxes are not level. I know it probably doesn't matter much but it's one of those things for me. Staff was friendly and helpful and the driving range was great. Lots of blind shots if you drive it far I would recommend playing with someone who has been here before.
Course is in good condition
Greens were very good, and everything else was in good condition. Very pleased with the course.
lots of doglegs, mostly left
Nice course, good condition. Greens were excellent. Challenging but not overly. Miss to the correct sides/areas you are alright and can recover. Pay attention to distances off the tee if you are a big hitter. Lots of dogs left but you don't have to draw the ball well to score decent. Short game can save you on this course.
Bunkers galore
The course was in pretty good condition. Tons of bunkers & hardly any water. The landscape was pretty dry for all 18 holes. However, it's a 27 hole course & I only played 18, so maybe the other 9 is better. I played "Clunie" & "Castle."
Challenging Course
This course if very challenging but fun to play. We got on right away and with a twosome and no one in front of us we played it in a little over three hours. A lot of the greens are surrounded with bunkers which adds to the challenge of this course.
The greens were in great shape.
We played after a great deal of rain and the course handled it well. Because of the rain our tee time was delayed but the staff handled the delay very well. The greens were in great shape. Only complaint was that we didn't see the beverage cart until the 17th hole
The best shape i have seen it in years
The fairway and rough was in great condition. The greens were the best i have ever seen. Get out and play the course.
Still a Twin Cities Top Notch Course
I had not played Majestic Oaks for a number of years. It is still one of the better layouts in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. Not to far from the downtowns and easy access off of Hwy. 65. Tees were a bit "bushy" and the greens were standard speed. Pace of play was excellent, and we were done in about 3 1/2 hours. Tee boxes set up for all levels going back as far as 7000 + yards. Tree lined fairways and a lot of trouble if you are straying off the tee. Fairways were consistent and the greens held well on approach shots. The staff was friendly and the "cart girl" checked up on us about every third-fourth hole. This was a good thing because it was an extremely hot and sultry morning. Highly recommended.
Course is maintained and good value
Having played Majestic Folks occasionally over the past 30+ years, I have found it to be maintained and a moderate to interesting challenge.
Early a.m. value
The Signature course was challenging with deceptively thick and deep rough; a 10-15 mph wind didn't help. The greens ran true and were moderately fast. However, the bunkers do need some attention but I figure that has more to do with amount of rain recently. Good challenge at a great value for an early Friday round.
Terribly Slow
course was in great shape. Staff was friendly. However, there were no marshals on the course and the group in front of us had 3 women who thought this was some type of tea party/social event causing the round to take 5 and a half hours. This course needs more attention to pace of play!
Fun to play
Enjoyed the wooded aspects of the course and the location as well as the green conditions.
The beauty and the challenge of this course are the abundance of trees.
I took my nephew and a friend golfing. My nephew hit his first hole in one at age 7 and I know he really enjoys golfing. My nephew had a kidney transplant and just turned 17 years old and I wanted to do something special for him. I do not golf myself, so brought a friend that enjoys golfing and socializing to make it more enjoyable for my nephew. It was my first experience with GolfNow, a golf cart and being on a golf course watching someone play 18 holes of Golf. The process through GolfNow was easy and seamless - the sun came out and we all enjoyed the beauty of Majestic Oaks, including the great meal before we headed out.
Nice challenging course, but pro shop staff a bit abrassive
Started over an hour late due to frost, which was not problem and was expected. However, while checking in, the 2 young men working the desk were somewhat rude and acted though they were being bothered by having to do their job. This appeared the case with everyone checking in, as we were waiting inside while the frost cleared. The staff in the bar was very friendly and prompt. The starter was also friendly and did a great job of getting the groups going once the frost cleared. All in all, its a nice course, with challenging but not an impossible layout. Conditions were pretty good considering it being end of season, with quick and mostly smooth greens, and even fairways. The rough was a but bumpy in some spots, but OK. The renovated practice area will be a very nice upgrade once finished, as the old area was very poor and inadequate for the courses.
Just Right For The Money
Course is, almost always in good condition. Greens are consistent for speed with just enough subtle breaks to make you work at every putt. Cart girls are pretty, friendly, and attentive.
Enough challenge to make it a level playing field for strikers, scramblers, and boomers.
Home course for my Summer golf league.
Not a great value
The course was in pretty tough shape for the price. Pace of play was slow and many groups were jumping holes to avoid long waits at the tee box. The course has declined since I last played it 2 years ago.
