Pine Hills Country Club
About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Reviews
Awful
Rude staff. Front 9 closed. Won't go back ever. Don't waste your time or money
Great course conditions for mid January!!!!
Our foursome was impressed with the condition of the course, especially the quality of the greens at this time of the year. We played in 3 1/2 hours on a breezy 40 degree afternoon and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. What could be better than being able to play golf in mid January with no snow on the ground? Hot Deal price was a great deal - we'll be back!
Very nice Course
I played this course for the first time on 12/19/15. The weather was windy and cold but that didn't take away how nice the course is. The course was in great shape and the greens were true. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. I will go back in nicer weather.
Pine Hills Mnorville
Course in great shape. Many upgrades in progress,
which I think may make course more
challenging.
Looking forward to playing there again!
Good greens
Arrived and went into pro shop, kid behind counter (Matt?) asked for my name, threw me a cart key across the counter and said "there ya go". Pretty poor customer service, didn't tell me who my group was or when to start so I just went as a single. Course is in great shape, greens are rolling as good or better than the premium clubs in LI in the summer, truly amazing for December. Will be back
Beautiful day, beautiful course
It was fantastic to play in Pine Hills GC at this season. My wife and I admired the beautiful foliage every hole. I strongly recommend every golfers to play there before coming season off.
Great course
This is one of the best courses I've played this year. Fairways, greens and traps outstanding. One of my favorites
Freezing day !
Having good time and also got several nice shot in this freezing day ! Can't believe the ball running so far ! So excited ! Will be back ❤️❤️❤️
Great Course,Better Staff
The staff here is one of the best at any public course I have ever played in past 6 years. Conditions are always good to great, brand carts this season and always a challenging course.
Aerated greens
I've played pine hills many times and was very disappointed that no one mentioned that the greens had been aerated . Arrived early to have a cup coffee and nothing was open (restaurant or snack bar). $54 was no bargain for torn up greens. We should have been told prior to going out and would have been satisfied with a complimentary bucket of balls or a reduce greens fee. No apology from management.
Nice course
I enjoyed the course very much. Play was a little slow but in the end we finish in 4 1/2 hours. Greens were aerated and bumpy but it's September so I expect that. I read the negative reviews regarding staff and condition of course but I found neither Staff was friendly and with exception of one or two fairways the course was in great shape
Always a challenge
I have played here many times. It's length and tree lines fairways make it challenging. Course is always well maintained and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommended
Not Too Bad
Fairways and putting greens were in good shape even though they were a bit soft due to rainy weather on and off. Bunkers were little hard. Overall, the course was not too bad.
Highly recommended
Thoroughly enjoyed Pine Hills - it s visually beautiful
Great condition
Woman friendly
Good pace
Great food
Friendly staff on and off the course
Good practice facilities
All in all its my favorite in Suffolk next to Montauk Downs !
Greens, fairways and sand traps are in poor condition
I was saddened by the condition of this course after playing it for several years.
On several holes there were areas of ruts and areas in desperate need of repair from carts in the fairway (I can recall hole 6, 8, 9 and 16 were in such shape).
Fairways are loaded with divots with no repair mix available on the carts.
Several of the have bare spots with no grass. As an example holes 11 and 12 had bald patches. It's a shame because 12 is a gorgeous hole.
Nearly all sand traps have less than 1/4" of sand so you cannot "go at" the sand shot. It forces you to play a chip shot out of the sand.
It really makes me sad because the layout is amazing.
Swan Lake much more golfer friendly!

This review is spot on!
Alternate course selections
are good.
could be better
The proshop staff could have prepared better with the Jr. Tournament on the course and sent regular players off the back instead of from the 1st tee. Started my round and after the second was forced to jump 4 holes because of jr tournament. The organizer was not so friendly on the course since I was about to tee off from which I thought was a regular group and the organizer came screaming hey you can tee off between groups. So again off in the cart I go to the following tee box. The rest of the round was ok. I would try this place again as a last resort not a first choice.
Dear Customer,
I am sorry that you had such a bad experience at our course with the JR. Tournament. Although it is not acceptable the JR tournament is very difficult, and the director had his assistant coach call out sick so he was very short handed that day. I would love for you to e-mail me at josephflanaganiv@gmail.com so we can make your next experience at our course better.
Sincerely,
Joe
Nice Course
Nice track, but it appears one that you have to get off early in. We had an early morning time and breezed right thru it. Pace of play was great. Although after finishing the round it appeared very crowded. Enjoyed the round.
WONDERFUL DAY
EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. PARTNER WAS A LITTLE LATE FOR OUR T TIME BGUT THERE WAS NO FUSS. GOT U OUT QUICKLY.
Second time around
Okay .. So my first experience wasn't great with an unfrndly staff but received an apology which wasn't expected or needed but showes someone cares .. Tee boxes were in much better shape and greens all but 1 hole which I heard they have continuos problems with this 1 green ... PACE OF PLAY WAS DREADFUL HOWEVER .. I should have gotten there 10 minutes earlier and we woulda been okay .. Some member missed his tee time and the starter held the spot for a 4 some that missed their time , then the 4 guys hit 7 balls off the first tee alone ... To drive out to the east end of the island is okay ... Pace of play is usually 4 hours when you spend over an hour to go out there for a fast round ; WELL NOT HERE !! 6 hours !! Yep 6 hour round behind 4 clowns that hit 2 balls in every hole till they ran outta balls I felt like . The ranger went to them 3/4 times but the pace never changed ... The starter should have never given them a line cut when you have 2 other 4 soles ready to go ... I'm there 45 min early as requested to sit and wait for some member to show up and Kate kiss his tee time and then play with no regard to anyone else ... The course was in great shape ... But for 60-80$ it's not worth it he head ache when you have 20 other courses in same 10 mile range for the same price or less . - was extremely disappointed ...

A local favorite
It's a reasonable course for the average player. If you threaten 100 on a regular basis you will have a good time on this course. Conditions are good but sometimes respect the amount of play it gets. Greens are usually well maintained. The best part of this course over the 20 times I've played it if you always meet someone fun to hang out with. Joe in the pro Shop is top flight both in service and personality.

I pride our staff on great customer service so this review is rather disturbing. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
