Pine Hills Country Club
About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Pine hills
Pace of play was average for Long Island . Greens we're is pretty good shape . Tee boxes a little beat up . Overall I'd come back . The pro in the pro shop took forever with the line in the morning , so get there extra early ! And the starter was nasty yelling at us to get to the tee when the pro told us we still had 20 minutes before tee .
I thought it was ridiculous as that I need to sit there and watch 2 groups tee off in front of me .
Very nice course that requires some marshalling
Late Saturday round, that slowed considerably on the back 9. There were foursomes to singles all on course, some marshalling to give ppl a move on I think could help a lot.
A course I like a lot with good length but pretty wide fairways. Wayward shots are penalised usually with trees blocking your second shot to the green. Greens are I think amongst the best in public courses for their difficulty that I have played.
Course is well kept and has good practice facilities to make use of.
A nice track
Haven't played here in few years. They made some changes, cleared out some trouble spots .
Greens in great condition . Play was slow, but average for LI.
I'll try to get back before the season is over
Long par fours
This course is very challenging and in excellent shape.
Overbooked
Had a double wait on the 2nd hole after starting late. Took 5 holes to open up. Didn't see a cart girl until the 8th hole. Kid that came to check my receipt had a bad attitude when I had to bring up the GolfNow email, because I had to switch arts after ours almost died at the turn. My receipt was in the 1st cart. Will not return to play.
good local course
the course is in good condition greens were better a month ago but fine pace could be better
satisfaction guaranteed
After not playing this course for over ten years, I realize how nice it is. From the moment you park in the parking lot until finishing your round, the time spent there was completely rewarding.
Nice conditions
Fairways, rough and greens in good shape! Teed off 12 minutes past assigned tee time. Pace of play a little slow; foresome in front of us had a hole open in front of them all day; no rangers on course to move them along. Played in 4:40 minutes. New pro shop (large selection for men; barely anything for women).
Execellent game challenge
Terrific course to challenge all levels of golf play--long game, short game, positioning greens rolled beautifully.
Friendly staff. Nice new pro shop (candy store;-) and nice restaurant and bar area.
Definitely worth the drive!
Nice
nice Afternoon of golf , good conditions excelent weather, very good greens
got it all
Entering my third full year of playing golf at least once a week, I really enjoy playing at pine hills. Though the staff is relaxed and friendly they do abide by real golf rules. The course has water holes, wood holes and sand when you dont want it. Not too easy but it will challenge you. one of my favorites on Long Island.
Golf on Sunday !
What a nice round of golf ! Especially on a Sunday. Everything was just right..ease of check in and tee off, the pace of play, and the condition of the course !
A plus !!!!
never go back again!
we played this course twice this year. every time the stuff at the proshop will postpone the tee time, which was booked through golfnow, 15 to 20 mins. this is not the worst. once we go to the first hole at the already delayed tee time, we found there were outing groups plled in front of us and we were told there was at least another 45 mins delay. each time we end up starting more than one hour later than the tee time reserved. i just cont understand that if the cousre has outing going on at the specific time, why do you leave the tee time open and why the proshop can postpone the reserved tee time without informing the custmer??? this is the course we would never go back again!!!
Great value for a great course!
Pine Hills Golf Course was pleasantly challenging and an excellent value for the price I paid! The clubhouse and restaurant were classy with a great selection, the course was in great condition, and the staff was extremely courteous. The course had a variety of challenging holes with bunkers and water. I look forward to playing here again soon.
1st experience at this course.
1st time playing this course had a great time. Greens were a little soggy from 2 days of heavy rain but tracked rather nice. Was behind 3 beginners and still played 18 in 4 hrs 15 min. Going back this weekend with a fore-some!
pine hills
no wait for my 744am tee time got right out.course was in great condition.I have played this course for over 30 years and this probably was the best the course has looked.Too bad I don't get out more but this was my first time John Masino
Overall great day!
The weather was great and the course was crowded. There was no starter but we teed off right on time. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. A few greens had been aerated recently but did not affect play. Love the pro shop move to the lower level.
pine hills country club
