Pine Hills Country Club
About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Reviews
Friendliest staff ever.
Course was in good shape considering it is only April . The staff were probably the friendliest golf course staff I have ever met, right down to the ranger. The course was fun and challenging. My only complaint was that on the second tee box they got very backed up and at one point there was 4 foursomes on the same hole. Once we got to the fourth hole it opened back up and we resumed a normal pace. I'll chalk that up as an error and would definitely play here again.
Great Course
Great course.
One of the green is still in re-building stage, but it seems it is almost ready.
Definitely, will be there again!!
Slow play
Me and my golfing buddies have always liked the course. It's usually in good shape and is challenging for a golfer of my skill level. However, we haven't been to this course in a while because of the extremely slow play that we have experienced in the past. This particular time the play was annoying slow. There was no ranger and the course backed up with sometimes three groups on the tee box. Sorry to say, we won't be back for a while again.
Great Sunday Afternoon!
Played this past Sunday ... got through in less than 4 hours ... the course was in excellent condition and pace of play was perfect. This course is usually a slow play, but we were pleasantly surprised!
They are doing some construction and will be moving the pro-shop to enlarge the restaurant facility, but that will just make the place even nicer.
This course will test all your skills
Long time one of my favorites. Early in the season yet the course is in amazing shape. Be careful the greens are nasty. Great value at any cost
Golf day
Very nice course Great shape for this time of year friendly staff Will be back Will recommend to friends
Green are in great shape for March
Greens are very good. Course will give you all the challenge that you can handle.
March 2014
Played Pine Hills on the first day of Spring. Was very surprised with how good the course conditions were considering we just went through a long winter. Tee boxes and greens were mint. Greens were incredibly tricky and fast even with heavy rain early that morning. Had no trouble finding shanked balls since even the wooded areas were fairly clear of foliage. The facilities were under some new construction. This course has definitely gone up in my personal favorites list. Look forward to playing it again soon.
leaves
unfortunately too many leaves on the course...and often impossible to find your ball..even in the center on the fairway sometimes....
awesome
great course awesome price but need to space out the tee times pace of play was horrible got very backed up on the back nine
4 HOUR ROUND
we were suprised when we finished in four hours, for a saturday, morning, 10 am tee time. This is very uncommon at Pine Hills, course was in great shape. we will definately play again this year
Always in great shape
Even though the greens were aerated the day before, they were still in good shape for putting. Course is in great shape and has a great layout.
FRONT NINE CLOSED!!
This course is generally in good shape and enjoy playing, but the front nine greens were being aerated and closed while the back nine was also recently aerated and difficult putting. We were forced to play the back nine twice.
I'm disappointed when golfnow.com did not warn us of this situation!!
Aerating.
Had to play front nine twice since aerating back nine. Very slow play and no sign of a ranger to speed up play. Greens on front nine in excellent condition except for failure of players to repair ball marks.Rough relatively short but very thick and difficult to hit out of..
Could be excellent course
the course is in ok shape. they are going to be airating the course next week. The only real problem is the time it takes to play. I would expect 5hr rounds at a muni but not at a private course. They book t's too close together and allow residents to just jump out in front of you.
Fair but challenging course
Every time I play here the course is in excellent condition. The holes are interesting with different challenges. The staff is always cordial.I can't ever recall not enjoying a round here.
Great course
Would reco to anyone , great value, playing again tomorrow , worth the drive going there
nice course. front 9 very different from back nine. interesting
I look forward to going back to Pine Hills. Like the course a lot.
Very nice course
Definitely not an easy open course. Have to make shots to score. Greens in excellent shape
One of my favorites. Challenging but fair.
Great facility. Nice practice area. Staff friendly and courteous.
Nice 19th Hole happy Hour. highly recommend.
