Spruce/Dogwood at Middle Island Country Club

About
Located almost in the center of Long Island, the aptly named Middle Island Country Club is one of the area's most popular public golf courses. The 27-hole layout is divided into three nines that are played in 18-hole combinations. The Spruce/Dogwood begins with a front nine that underwent a major renovation in 2008. An island green was added to the par-4 seventh and another major addition was new tee boxes to accommodate women, seniors, and championship play. Middle Island Country Club's Spruce nine boasts generous fairways and large greens where there is plenty of room to grip it and rip it. Take advantage of the scoring opportunities on this nine because the Dogwood nine gets much more challenging. The back nine is a formidable test with narrows fairways and greens with surprising breaks that will have you wondering how you "just missed" it.

Greens need help.
Course is long and challenging. the fairways and tee boxes were in good condition. The greens need a lot of help. I’ll definitely look forward to coming back once the greens are leveled and cleaned up.
Great shape . Kevin the starter always friendly .
Solid weekday play
Great course to go fast during the week. Course personnel need to shut off the machines when golfers are playing
Awesome course
Course conditions were absolutely amazing. The only complaint were the inconsistent greens where we played spruce first and the greens were wet and slow. Then we played Oak and the greens were dry and fast. The course was gorgeous, well kept and I would certainly play this again!
Overpriced
Hopefully they can keep up the maintenance with the new management. $95 is an insane price for the conditions. Doesn’t help that nobody can fix a ball mark.
