Crab Meadow Golf Course

Even though it is already cold and the ground is frozen...the course still in great shape...

First time here. the course layout and conditions were fantastic for November.

pace of play was awesome since there was really nobody out there.

will definitely come back again next season

This is a great town course. It has some of the nicest views in all of Long Island and the holes have a good layout. The one problem is often the greens are a little mishandled and need work. There is also a little fox on the 11th hole that steal whatever you bought for the back nine while yo are hitting. It just sits and waits for you to go up and hit the ball then it sneaks out of the woods and goes in your cart. Actually funny! Play this course and see how nice a public course can be on LI.

The greens are not well maintained with regards to being cut or rolled consistently.

It was like putting on the fairway as one of my golf buddies said one time . It’s not all the greens . Just a few . # 2 green had some problems earlier this year but the grounds crew did a great job in bringing it back .

Would have been nice to have a course ranger to help with pace of play. 3 hours to play front nine. Couldn’t not continue playing. Called club house twice but nothing changed. Not what experience was years ago when played but won’t return after this.

I haven't played here in 20 years, but it was better than I ever remembered, A pleasant surprise. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

First time, won’t be last time. I do like the course layout. Some greens were in disrepair - reportedly due to region/wetness. The carts had GPS - nice. Maintenance people were cutting fairways, etc during round - a bit annoying. It was a rainy day so only finished 16 holes.

Course is beautiful and is kept up well except for horrendous greens. They’re in really bad shape!

The Greens were horrible! I notified the golf management that I was very disappointed with the golf course conditions. They stated they would send me a golf voucher for future play, however , they never sent me the voucher? The management of the course is terrible. There are more than a couple of greens that are unplayable. The pro shop should have informed us of the egregious conditions? I will never play this Course ever again.

The golf management of the course is terrible. Don’t waste your hard earned money on this course. In Over 50 yrs of playing golf , this is the first time I ever complained about a golf course!

Beautiful course with some great views but some of the greens and some of the rough and fairways were in need of attention.

Was invited to play this course by a friend and jumped at the chance to finally play this gorgeous course. We got 78 degree weather with NO wind off the surrounding waters. Just a perfect day. We started with driving some balls at the range station just outside the clubhouse while deer grazed on the grass right below us. Our tee time was set for 7:14 but the starter let us go out in our twosome about 15 minutes earlier. The views from every hole are great. Water and greenery surround your eyes everywhere you look. The carts have GPS, which I have heard others complain about, with built in range finders which made club selection and stroke power much easier to determine. Holes 2 through 5 showed some wet rot but I'm giving 5 stars anyway because I can imagine how nice things will look once they address that. I would and will be back to play this beauty again.

First tee box was under repairer to start & greens where torn up bumpy & slow. If had known would not have booked. Could be great track.

This is my second time playing this course and I will likely not be returning. My first experience was last season, and their course was in terrible shape. They had several greens vandalized the night prior and at least 4 greens were out of play. While this is very unfortunate, I would have liked a warning and perhaps a discounted rate to play there that day. Neither were given. I played yesterday 8/7/19. Probably half of their greens were in terrible shape. 3 or 4 unplayable. I realize the difficulty in maintaining a course throughout the summer with extreme heat and at times little rainfall, but when I pay expensive green fees i expect more. The layout and views are quite nice, but i would not recommend course and will no longer be playing there.

First time here but greens are terrible. I don’t know they are under maintenance or not but paying $50 for weekday golf in this course is unacceptable. Never be back again!!!
