About
The Golf Club at Middle Bay is located on Long Island's south shore overlooking the barrier islands of Jones Beach, Point Lookout, and Lido Beach. Nearly every hole looks out across water. Though the golf course is just an hour outside of New York City, you'll feel as though you've been whisked off to an out-of-town resort. The layout has a challenging design that will test your accuracy with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. Wind will also be a factor on this golf course. The Golf Club at Middle Bay is a tough but fair layout that players of all skill levels will enjoy. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range available.

What's the rush.
I was very dissatisfied today. We played our round in 4 hours and 20 minutes. Of which we had a ranger harassing us to speed up the entire back 9. We were by no means playing slow especially considering 5 holes were cart path only. At no point was the group behind up even near us nor did they ever have to wait. The ranger who was nice explained they want everyone done in 4 hours. I play a lot of golf and to be honest I love to be done In 4 hours but sometimes the course conditions and limits do not allow that. I have never been in a group that was told to speed it it before today I felt insulted and rushed for zero reason. For that this course has greatly dropped on my list of courses to play.

Fun Track
Middle Bay is a challenging track in good shape. Small greens with false fronts and a good stiff breeze off the water. Hopefully they have a clubhouse soon that’s the only knock here. Staff is always excellent as well

Great course, but heat and rain have affected grass
A couple of weeks ago the course was in absolutely perfect condition, but heat and rain have taken a toll and some areas of the course are damaged. Still, the greens were rolling wonderfully and it was still a pleasure to play. There are a couple of tee boxes that need to be flattened so they don't arc, and a couple of sand traps need more sand. But still a pleasure to play and a nice course.

Continues to be One of My Favorite Courses in the NYC Area
Despite the recent very heavy rain, the course is in great shape. Very lush. Plays harder than it looks because of winds coming off the Atlantic. One of the few daily-fee links courses in the NYC area.

Not worth it
Course was in terrible condition burnt out grass full of mud overgrown rough big chunks of grass clippings everywhere the traps are just hard dirt no sand was worst golf course I’ve played very disappointed. Views are nice and the range putting green and chipping area only nice things about the course.

Nice Deal
This was my first time playing Middle Bay. They have a decent short game and putting area. The range is mats only but serves the purpose as a spot to warm-up. The course has pretty solid green structures. The greens were pretty true but could have been a bit faster. The bunkers were inconsistent - some were mostly dirt/mud. The fairways were in good shape. The wind wasn't too bad when I played, but because it is close to the water, I could see this course playing tough if the wind is up. Overall, a pretty good place to play. Paid $45 with cart on a hot deal, which is a good value on Long Island.

Fun waterside course with good variety
This is a fun course with well-designed strategic holes and water views. The fairways twist and turn smartly, and even though water is often in play you have options to play safe. The course makes good use of cross-hazards and a good mix of distances and greens well suited to the approaches. The bunkering is good with several deep bunkers off the greens (although the sand is not very sandy). Nice width off the tee and easy green to tee transitions. The course is flat, so an easy walk but not much elevation challenge throughout. The greens have subtle slopes and contours. Overall it is an enjoyable round.

Dog track on long island
This place get worse and worse week by week. Roosevelt raceway closed years ago and it feels it reopened at middle bay.

Middle “average” Bay
I have played this course before and after sandy. I liked it better before - reasons why:
1-No clubhouse, a long painful walk to the trailer (was told 4 yrs ago new one was being built)
2-starter guaranteed a 4 hr round which was really 5 hours
3-fairways and tee boxes in mediocre condition
Staff was good but this feels like a county course, doesn’t have private appeal anymore!!!

Near country-club conditions
I played here about 6 weeks ago, and the course has not only grown in but is pretty much at country club conditions. I've played here over the past few years and never saw the conditions better. Fairways are much much improved, like a carpet. Even #13 is perfect now, which had always had water issues. Greens were rolling wonderfully. Halfway house had LOTS of options, much more that most places I've been to. Highly recommended course. Only thing needed now is a nice new clubhouse!
