About
The Golf Club at Middle Bay is located on Long Island's south shore overlooking the barrier islands of Jones Beach, Point Lookout, and Lido Beach. Nearly every hole looks out across water. Though the golf course is just an hour outside of New York City, you'll feel as though you've been whisked off to an out-of-town resort. The layout has a challenging design that will test your accuracy with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. Wind will also be a factor on this golf course. The Golf Club at Middle Bay is a tough but fair layout that players of all skill levels will enjoy. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range available.

Great course by the bay with so few public courses in area.The winds can make it challenging. Greens are true. Looking forward to the club house...

Mixed review
Gave an overall rating of 3 stars. Rating per segment is as follows: Pace of play was excellent. The starter advised it should be a 4 hour round and he was right on the money. He warned if we were playing too slow, a ranger would come out and push us. Similarly, if we were caught behind someone playing a slow pace, we could call the ranger and they would be pushed. I appreciated this since I like to play a quick round. Course conditions were fair. Fairways were in good shape but a lot of goose poop and bunkers were wet and weren't soft. Covid-19 may impact bunker conditions since they can not be raked. The staff was very friendly and starter was very informative. I rated this as excellent. Value for the money was average. Course layout was good. Some scenic holes but not particularly challenging in terms of obstacles. Rough was very manageable. Off course amenities were fair and I could have easily said poor. I am giving a fair rating since the starter explained that the course is going through a transition from private to public and that they are in the process of building a banquet hall/clubhouse. Parking is a walk from the temporary club house (which is just a mobile trailer for now) and the restaurant is hardy that but basically a small building to get a hot dog, burger or wrap. If the work on this course completes this year, it should be a good course to play. The challenge will always be to manage the Canadian Geese. Other courses on the water are able to do so, so they will need to be move vigilant.

very fair, you. can score if you keep the ball in play, greens are true and hold when you hit them.,rough is thick and tough,can be windy at times------- beautiful scenery on the water.

Hot July Round
Absolutely love this course, very picturesque. Can be challenging, particularly the holes close to the water, wind picks up. In amazing shape, greens were a bit slowvery good condition. Pace was a bit off, but the round was done in just under four hours.

Great course
Price is not to much for such a well kept beautiful establishment. Many of the holes sit right on the water making for a unique experience. Loved it.

Best Public course in Nassau County
I've played pretty much every public course in Nassau at this point and Middlebay is far and away the nicest. Very well maintained, gorgeous scenery, challenging and long but manageable for any level golfer.
My understanding was that this was a private golf club prior to hurricane Sandy and it has since been renovated and opened to the public.
Will be making this my new go-to place to play.
