Broadacres Golf Club
About
Broadacres Golf Club is situated in southern Rockland County on the border between New York and New Jersey. Its convenient location allows for easy access from both states and it's only a 20-minute ride from midtown Manhattan. The golf course has nine holes with an alternate set of tees for an 18-hole round. The layout sprawls across rolling hills dappled with towering oak trees. The golf course incorporates a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. With narrow, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens, accuracy will serve you well on this course. You'll face several doglegs and there are strategically placed bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. Broadacres Golf Club's signature third hole is one of the toughest holes in the area. This par 3 plays up a steep hill to an undulating green.

Scheduled twosome had to play foursome
I arrived to tee off for 12:40 last Thursday 5/14.
On line it would only allow me to book a twosome which was fine because I was golfing with my brother. They were playing a little behind which was OK given how crowded it is with the pandemic. When it was time for me to T off we walked to her bowl and someone from the course yelled to tell me that to total strangers were joining our twosome.
The whole purpose of the recent restrictions is to Prevent the disease from spreading and only being around people you know that I’ve been self quarantined and not exposing themselves. Apparently that does not exist at this course. I would never go back as if someone is willing to not follow a state mandate based on the number of lives that have been lost that is not the kind of place I want to support and show patronage to.
Great course for a moderate player
Great course and easy to find using GPS. Course was in great shape; Tee'd off on -time and the pace of play improved after the 4th hole. Overall, I was very satisfied with the course layout and conditions
Great Play at Broadacres
I was excited to get out and onto the course! Under the Social Distance requirements Broadacres made it super easy. Everything was prepaid online, when I arrived Starter had my name used appropriate social distancing to get us started. This course is perfect for walking, speed of play was excellent, with little to no wait time between holes. I am not familiar with off-course amenities as due to Covid-19 everything was not available- but did not feel that should affect the rating. I do find the course to be a bit pricey for 9 holes and no cart :( Grounds are in great shape and under the circumstances Broadacres is a great place to play.
Great course with challenging layout
I really enjoyed this course. Great value and loved the layout. Challenging greens made short game even more fun. Looking forward to playing again!
Pace was a little slow
Course was in good shape. Staff friendly. Played 18. First 9 got stuck behind a very very slow group. Took 25 minutes to play 1 hole cause there was a female player learning how to play. I ended up leaving my group and skipping the par 3 to jump ahead. Since I was playing another 9 I just hit 2 balls on the par 3 to even it out. The slow group was also very friendly but should know a little gold etiquette. All in all a great day, well except for my golf game.
The Nuthouse 9
It’s a great course to play if your looking to play a quick 9 or knock the rust off to start the season. It’s a very forgiving course which you can walk if you are looking to get some exercise.
Slow Pace
They seem to have a process management issue here. 9 hole course but you can play twice for 18. After finishing the front 9, had to wait 20 minutes to continue to 10, since other groups were booked to start at the time we finished 9. They don’t seem to factor in the 18 hole pace when booking.
This course is good for practice rounds.
Just implemented a rule not to allow out of state residents to play course.
Eh!
Not impressed at all. Some quirky holes. Challenging course but in quirky ways. Above average greens though. Not thrilled. Probably will not go back unless I really have no other choice...
Greens are surprisingly good...
When you first play the course, after the tee shot you would think eh... no big deal, but when you get on the green, you'll realize the greens are very well maintained. It's a shame that the course don't reflect the greens, but if you're looking for a good 9 hole course to help practice and get your game on, this would be a good course for you.
There really aren't good yardage markers around, but if you really want to challenge yourself in getting better, I recommend that you only bring hybrids and irons. Forces you to use the longer irons and learn to make shots in further distances. And the greens won't be easy on you, so you have to really be able read the greens.
But I like playing the course, and the staff can be courteous and nice, but depends on who's behind the counter, and who the ranger is, cause you could be in for a long day if the pace of play gets backlogged...
