Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

overpriced
Overpriced course with many divots on greens. Also ranger was like a gestapo . Would not recommend. Better courses out east for the money that treat you better.
Pace of play
5 hours ! Group ahead was playing very very slow, finding each lost ball advising each other instead of moving on to their own. Complained to the ranger, who did nothing and said the course was backed up.
Lack of communication
Booked online with golf now . No notice of greens being aerated. Would not have played there had I known. Course is in good shape except for the greens . Pace of play was bad also
Very nice condition
Great course in excellent condition, great amenities and friendly staff.
It is what it is
Been playing this course for 20 years, but I think I’m done.
First off, let me say that I love this golf course. It tests every club in your bag, is in great shape, the people are super friendly, and it’s very convenient to my home.
However the pace of play is absurd, and it’s clearly obvious that management has chosen not to address this issue. I’ve tried late afternoon tee-times, Tuesdays, Thursdays Saturdays and Sundays….and it makes little difference. I recently played on a Thursday night at 5:30, and was 3 groups deep on the 6th tee box….absolutely ridiculous.
Like I said, it’s such a great track but this this past year might force me to look elsewhere.
Course is great
Course was fine today considering all the rain. One problem was no WATER to drink with 96 degree full sun 90 percent Humidity no Water anywhere even to Buy.
Prepare to be there a long time.
Beautiful golf course. However 5 hours and 45 mins is unacceptable. The 4th player left after 3+ hours. We sought out a ranger at the turn who was no help. We have not booked there since because of slow play.
Practice area is not adequate.
Golf with the. Boys
Starter was a great guy. Did his best to get my group out before scheduled tee time; unfortunately, my group was waiting for 1 more player so we couldn’t get out earlier, but at least the starter tried. Course was in great condition and was fun/challenging to play.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
