About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Great course, long waits
Great golf course and the conditions were excellent. Nice to see improvements with the rest rooms at #4 and at the main clubhouse. Greens rolling well, tee boxes good. Only complaint: over 5 hours to play 18 and waits on every hole all the way to #18, in some cases multiple parties waiting at a tee area. Not sure what went wrong, but maybe tee times should be spaced out better?
Smithtown landing
Beautiful course. Reminded me of Bethpage red. But tighter. Lacking in sand traps and water hazards. A tough walk, especially from the parking lot to the starter!
Pace was horrible. 2 1/2 hours just to play 9 holes so I walked off. No food available and the vending machines weren’t stocked. Last time I ever play there again

The Landing is a fantastic public course Well maintained and challenging. The whole crew does a great job there.
Stay away unless you have 6 + hours
I played today and left after 9 holes and almost 3hours 20 minutes . Every hole had 3 groups .one playing and 2 waiting .I asked the starter for help and he said they had a small outing of 8 groups that went out 30 minutes before me . They gave me a rain check after I complained and only playing 9 holes . This is my town course and now I remember why I only play a few times per year here

Teed off at 1:13-put ball in hole on 18th green at 7:05!!! It was a great day for sun tanning!

It’s a nice course with good conditions. Has to leave after 12, going on the 5th hour

Course was clogged
Course was backed up because apparently we “missed our tee time” after we showed up 20 minutes early and we’re ready at the starter 5 minutes before we were scheduled so they let out a three some in our place. The result being we had to wait 10 minutes at the start of every hole. Also the bathrooms were out of order and there was no working water around

Beautiful course but past it’s prime.
It’s a beautiful course and you can see it was once top notch. Now it’s still in good condition for play. Tee boxes can use some work and they have a very serious wasp problem. They are on every hole and not just in the traps. Very uncomfortable playing or walking through with constant buzzing and fear of being stung. Amenities closed promptly at 5:00 on a 90 degree day with the course still full and very slow pace of play. A bottle of water would have been nice at the turn. Staff was otherwise nice and accommodating.
